I need to open new current account. Which ones do you rate? Are First Direct any good? Or Starling?

I’ve been with FD for about 25 years, they’ve always been brilliant but customer service has dropped off a bit in recent years. I do everything via internet banking so rarely need to speak to them, but when I do waiting times are a little longer.

First direct win a lot of awards for customer service. On the ball with fraud, would recommend them

I second First Direct, I've had accounts with them for 30+ years. Their customer service is excellent.
I also have online accounts with several other banks, none stand out particularly. There are some newer ones with various offers . DS has just opened an account with Chase, they give cashback of 1% on debit card spends.

I’m with FD, been with them for years. The phone banking side of it isn’t as good but I do like the app. Also they’ve been on the ball with fraud.

I've been with FD since 1995. I'd never change.
