Anyone have any tips for keeping cool/rational right now?
Last week I had a cold and cough which has seemed to settle down. My 4 year old and 1.5 year old were with their dad yesterday. You gets seemed to be getting the cold before he left and a little off. Anyway he threw up everywhere in the car when with his dad. He did tell me he had the car boiling hot and I think he was napping at the time. Anyway, not sure if he was sick because of the heat and feeling a bit unwell or if he has a tummy bug. He had some toast last night and a couple breast feeds. During the night he has a few coughs which sounded like he could've been sick! Ex has now told me my eldest has done a few "off" poos but is other wise fine. He was sat in the car with all the sick though....
I'm just absolutely freaking out. I have an irrational fear or sock and have my whole life. Realistically, when would I expect the rest of us to start being ill if it is a tummy bug?
Any tips for keeping calm right now?

We had a bug where we each caught it 4 days after the last so we had sick people in the house for 2 weeks. Is it the actual vomit or the though of being caught out? My fear is always the latter, so having lots of buckets etc on hand in each room calms me down because I know if I suddenly feel ill it'll be easy enough to clean up.

There is no reason to think you'll get it. Wash your hands and don't touch your face.
It could be he's been sick because of the cold. Little kids often are when they're all phlegmy. My DD always got sick with a cold.
Just settle them and try not to worry.
Basic hygiene will protect you.

No advice but a big handhold as I also have a huge fear of sick. Even reading your post made my heart race. I hope note just because the car was hot and nothing more comes of it.

Aww thanks for the replies all. I am exactly the same, whenever I read about anyone being sick it feels like my heart falls out of my body and I can easily get myself all upset and worried in their behalf!!!!
I'm not exactly sure where my fear sits. I think I worry about everyone else being poorly and passing it on and also now how I would cope as I'm a single parent! But I know I sound selfish as I need to help them both right now, but I just get so frightened!

You will cope though. I once had to hold my DD when she was 15 months because she wouldn't be put down as she was I'll, whilst myself being sick into the toilet. It was miserable but we got through it and most bugs are only 12 hours of actual physical sickness.

My DS was also sick last week and no one else has caught it. I've cleaned door handles, light switches, hand washing for everyone throughout the day, and treating his nappies like radioactive waste.

Big hugs. Wash your hands loads. Don't touch your mouth, wipe down door knobs/sides etc.

My child has had a vomiting bug twice in two months, no one else caught it both times. Hopefully its the same for you.

Thank you all. Now panicking I haven't washed my hands enough and had ds in my bed breathing on me 🙈🙈🙈
Oh well what can I do other then hope for the best! 😳😬
I am right to still offer breast feeds though aren't I? He just did another cough which sounded like a gag but the sick episode was about 16 hours ago now so I wonder if it's related to his cough... would be be sick again if it was a bug after not being sick for so long? I'd normally bf him at this time but I'm scared to 😬
