35 and been invited for Covid booster

Hi,

I'm 32 and was invited for my Covid booster. It has been 6 months since my second one so assumed it was correct that I got the text to book my booster.

Anyway, now I've had the booster, a few people have asked why I was eligible as you need to be over 50 or at high risk from coronavirus.

Now I'm wondering if I am at high risk ! I do have a few health problems that put me on the flu jab list, but was never classed as CEV. I have been to the gp recently about my 'flu jab list' health conditions and it was actually half an hour after leaving the surgery that I got the invite.

I just wondered if anyone knows more about this than I do because I am overthinking this now. Thanks.

Title should say 32 obviously, sorry.

You will be priority group 6 - which means not chronically extremely vulnerable but a health issue that puts you at higher risk

Thank you. So high risk is 'higher risk' which will include the old CEV people but also some old CV people too?

This was the first time I'd set foot in the gp surgery since before lockdown one so I was a little scared that I should always have been CEV and was missed off but now they've seen me, they've added me to the database or whatever it is.

Your post reassures me that I'm just overthinking !

I'm still waiting to be called for it, had my second one well over 7 months ago now and I'm on high dose steroids for chronic asthma and other issues, doctors not contactable and heard absolutely nothing don't know what's going on

weeeeeeeeee · 07/11/2021 00:04

Maybe go and book in for an asthma check? I think me visiting the surgery for a routine check must have triggered the invite and I would not have classed myself as high risk.

@halloweenie13 you can book it online here

www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/

I did mine earlier today, I had my 2nd dose five months ago and have my booster booked for next weekend.

wheresmymojo · 07/11/2021 00:29

You'll be group six like me - just booked my booster. I'm 39 and eligible for a free flu jab and Covid booster because I have bipolar disorder.

Feel it's pretty weird correlation TBH but I'll take it!

It's not often I get a benefit from a serious MH issue (albeit a weird one)...

I tried but it said I couldn't which is wrong as I know but I might call the line advertised to resolve it as I said it's been 7 months and I'm on inhalers which can cause adrenal deficiency that leaves me immunocompromised and have had pneumonia 3 times in 7 years. I think it's because I recently moved doctors when moving and they have been terrible not even having my notes or anything and I've been waiting about 1 month for new medications.

SleepingStandingUp · 07/11/2021 00:35

I've got mine soon, I'm 39. I'm on the flu jab list as DS is complex. DH will have his soon as he had his covid jab a few weeks after me so isn't quite at 6 months.

You can go onto the central NHS site now. If you had your vaccination 5 + months ago it will allow you to book a date for 6 months after your 2nd vaccination date.

Just booked mine as well through the link thank you

I've been checking and it was saying I couldn’t book. I haven’t had a text but it let me do it online today. Maybe they’ve opened it up to more people this morning?
