Got it with my phone upgrade received an email.

Thing is the only apple device I have is my phone. I have a kindle fire tablet and an Asus laptop would I be able to watch it on either of those?

Cos if not I won't bother as it'd be too hard to watch on the phone I think.

Also what kinda content on apple? Is it worth the hassle?

We watch Apple TV on our TV. It doesn’t have to be an Apple device.
We bought it purely for Ted Lasso!

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 05/11/2021 21:59

Apple TV is an app, like Netflix.

We've recently got it and enjoying The Morning Show, which is great. There seems to be a lot of good stuff.

ThePoisonousMushroom · 05/11/2021 21:59

And it’s no hassle. You just log in and watch TV.

Bobsyer · 05/11/2021 22:01

It’s like Netflix. If you have a smart tv you can log in on that.

Don’t forget to cancel it though, I forgot and got charged £14.99 for it.

Personally it’s a bit crap. Most of the stuff on there you have to pay extra for, I’m not sure I really get what the point is.

burnoutbabe · 05/11/2021 22:12

I watched it on my hp laptop (using the website which is fairly un-user friendly) and also via my PS4. Wouldn't work on my smart tv or via virgin box.

We had it free for a year when dh got his iPad. I watched a couple of series in that time, no one else in the house watched anything. It’s not worth whatever the cost it. The shows are pretty rubbish. Dh cancelled the subscription.

FurryGiraffe · 05/11/2021 22:31

The content is limited but there is the odd gem. For All Mankind is fabulous.

Noeuf · 05/11/2021 22:33

We had it. It’s more of all holding place for all subscriptions so a lot of content isn’t free. I hated it. Some gems but really difficult to work out what was free and what was linked to some other subscription you needed.

I got a year free with my new phone contract recently. As PP have mentioned, it’s not got lots of content and it’s not a great interface. Theres links to things you need to pay extra for or go to a different app (like iplayer) which is a big random. I have watched Ted Lasso and am currently watching The Morning Show which are both enjoyable and binge-worthy - Ted Lasso in particular is great.

That being said, I probably wouldn’t pay for it long term in its current format.

Danikm151 · 05/11/2021 22:43

Trying is a really good show.
Just download the app and watch

Graphista · 05/11/2021 23:33

I don't have a tv at the moment old one bust.

Don’t forget to cancel it though, I forgot and got charged £14.99 for it.

Omg yes I set reminders on my phone calendar for these things been caught out before!

Tempted by the morning show being as I'm a huge Jennifer Anniston and reese Witherspoon fan and I've seen clips and fancy trying it

But for one show and with poor content and difficult to use I think I'll give it a swerve - thanks all

Get the trail, there’s some really great stuff on there. There’s also an Apple TV tab that shows the Apple (free) content on it’s own. And I’m only paying £4.99 a month, not £14.99.

Ted Lasso is worth paying for on it’s own but make sure you check out For All Mankind & Mythic Quest as well. The first season of The Morning Show was great but I’m not enjoying season 2 as much.

burnoutbabe · 06/11/2021 07:48

Oh yes I enjoyed trying and the thing with Chris Evans. And the morning show. And that was it that I watched over the 12 months I had it.

Noeuf · 07/11/2021 13:53

Defending Jacob? The Chris Evans thing.
