Need Christmas inspiration for my 3.5 year old DD
What will entertain her the most?

I’m wondering about Sylvanian families?
She likes animals

4.5yo DS loves Lego and Playmobil. Both really easy to add to, and keep him occupied for hours.

It was all about Thomas the Tank Engine and diggers at that age. She liked Sylvanian Families at a slightly older age. That’s a long time ago, though.

Surely it depends on your particular child and what she’s interested in?

She also loved little bags at that age - never went anywhere without a handbag full of trains. Grin

Mine is nearly 4. Dolls and accessories like buggy/bath etc popular. Also thought about Sylvanian Families. She dismissed them when looking the other day but I'm going to get a small set and see how it goes.

Playmobil was a bit hit here. Lego not so much, too fiddly.

She played with teddies instead of dolls but had all the usual things for role play, kitchen, clothes, beds, tea sets etc.

Ds loved his marble run at that age. Loved building it and watching marbles! I would also recommend dolls houses and kitchens (not because she is a girl!) and train tracks. These are all great for imaginative play and construction.

Playmobil is a big hit, particularly sets which have babies in.

Baby dolls and clothes for them to wear, a pushchair and lots of bags and play food for imaginary picnics.

A craft box with scissors, glue, paper, card, stickers that she can access any time on her own.

I have a DD the same age and on my Christmas ideas list I’ve got: Barbie, Disney princess dolls, a hair dressing head doll, audio story player like Tonie, Polly Pocket set

Pinkstegosaurus · 05/11/2021 16:32

Almost 4 DD loves sylvanian families but can’t quite get the clothes back on - fair warning, they are fiddly little bastards! Polly pocket is on her list, ballet related stuff along with magnifying glass, outdoor go find it type game, book on insects.

Dinosaurs and anything belonging to her older sister.

DD (5.5) got a dolls house for her fourth birthday and she still plays with it every day. She has this one: www.amazon.co.uk/Clas-Ohlson-Wooden-Dolls-House/dp/B08P5XJCQ6?ref_=ast_sto_dp&tag=mumsnetforu03-21 but the IKEA Flisat is very similar. She also loves Schleich animals, and has a box of horses and a Melissa and Doug wooden barn that are very popular.

User00000000 · 05/11/2021 16:43

Playmobil and her dolls pram, cot etc

AliceMcK · 05/11/2021 17:10

Just turned 4yo dd is having a very Barbie Christmas, she really loves all things Barbie at the moment. I think because she’s watched the Barbie treasure hunt movie a couple of hundred times this year. She really loves Chelsea too, Barbies little sister.

Other things she likes are polly pocket and baby dolls, prams etc

I have 3 girls, none of them ever liked the sylvanian families.

If she likes animals what about the spirit horses, Schleich or our generation horses.
