Anxiety through the roof, help me manage until GP appt

Anxiety is SO bad at the mo.

Worked myself up to get a GP appt but it isn't for another two weeks.

Evenings and nights are the worst and I can feel myself reaching for a glass of wine which probably doesn't help.

What helps you when you feel anxious, give me some tips to get through the next couple of weeks, please

Box breathing
Calm app sleep stories
Yoga for an hour
No caffeine from teatime
Camomile tea before bed

Ashwaganda supplements
Sex
Really engaging TV series or books
Getting out of your head - hard to describe but stepping outside the house, doing something with your hands (pottery, baking, coloring), giving yourself a belly massage
A hot shower

Distraction, phone someone, sing (I am in a community choir and nothing makes me feel better and lets me escape my anxiety) I also find listening to radio 4 sciencey programs strangely soothing. I hope you feel better soon. X

All the above are good.

One of the things that reduced my generalised anxiety was taking good quality magnesium supplements. Magnesium Malate in the morning and Magnesium Glycinate in the evening.

Rather than give quantities I would advise doing some googling on it as there are many different opinions on dosage and only you can decide which and when.

Apps helped me Headspace, Dare, Anxiety Guy, my positive self.
Every time have panic or thought drink water.
Eat lots fruit or have smoothie.
Watch a comedy
Colouring
Going for walk
Exercise either cardio with headphones and happy music or relax with yoga.
Write thoughts down on paper.
Bath, essential oils.
Also take magnesium, cod liver oil and vitamin d daily. If I drop any above usually do when start to feel better again, it comes back, have period of high anxiousness mainly over my health. Vicious circle. I know I need to be consistent.

Try getting out for a walk every day if you can. Cut caffeine completely out. All the very best at the gp.

Interesting about the magnesium will look into that.

Also going to try some of the apps it might stop me mindlessly scrolling!!

I second the Calm app sleep stories. I was really struggling at night and these have honestly helped me sleep so much. The whole app is fab.
I have found yoga stretches help get me out of the moment. Google yoga for anxiety and lots pop up.
Also walks during the day.
Fingers crossed you find something that works for you. Anxiety is rotten!
