Hello ladies!
I am really looking for any form of guidance you may have for me.
I have a 3yr old son, who’s behaviours vary from tantrum to complete meltdowns when he doesn’t get his way. Has never once slept right through the night, and the HV advised this is all normal behaviours. How can I get my son to stop screaming all the time, and sleep through the night? I have tried all the usual things too.
Thank you in advance!

Tantrums when told no at 3 are pretty normal. It’s how they show their frustration.

What kind of situations is it happening? I wokld offer an alternative “no we can’t do that but let’s do x instead” and just keep things very clear. Don’t give in the tantrum otherwise he will associate screaming with getting what he wants. Just cheerfully move onto the activity your doing!

Hi Sirzy, thank you for your response.
The behaviours range from throwing himself down and backwards, constant screeching/screaming, to throwing objects. Thankfully he has outgrown hitting me, & lashing out. Tried the "naughty" step/chair, time outs, taking a toy away, but everything just seems to make it worse. Unfortunately we've also had the neighbours come to the door about his screaming, which has only heightened my anxiety as we are apparently the talk of the neighbourhood.
