Party favours 11 year olds

Just after advice really. My son is turning 11. We are going swimming and for a pizza and I think I want to do some kind of party bag but no idea what's appropriate at this age. I also don't want plastic tat and I don't want to spend a fortune. My first thought was just sweets but can anyone think of anything a bit different? What kinds of things have people used for their 11 year olds?

Difficult with no plastic tat but also not expensive. The only thing I can think of is a ‘grow your own’ type thing but not sure that would appeal to 11 year olds. Fidget toys seem to be the most popular thing at the moment but then you are back to plastic tat.

My daughter received a mug with her name on at a party at that age and it was filled with sweets

Another time she received a pencil case full of pens

If it's coming up shortly what about a selection box. I had a DD with a December birthday and used to give one to each child instead of a party bag, went down well and you can get them for £1 sometimes

We have a Polaroid camera so I took photos and gave them all a copy, and just chucked in some sweets and a face mask or lip balm.

At that age I just gave them each a bag of sweets/box of chocolates - usually whatever was on special. Sometimes what you think of as boring is the most popular with the kids.

Packets of seeds?

My son’s birthday is near Christmas & we often do selection boxes. Other things he has had recently & enjoyed at parties (they are 9/10 yr olds) are fidget toys, Pokémon cards, match attack cards & some kind of outdoor survival wrist band (from a paintball party).
