Sainsbury’s nectar card double up event

This may be old news that I’m just a bit behind on, but I just read that Sainsbury’s have said they aren’t doing the nectar card double up event this year, due to “lack of interest”. By which I assume they mean their lack of interest in doing it.

There’s no point to this post except to grumble sulkily about it. DD is a toddler so this year we had been planning on doing the same as last year which was to buy some toys and books for her for Christmas, then spend the rest on clothes for her that we know she needs, or some presents for other family.

I know it’s an extra offer, and they don’t promise it, but it’s annoying when I’d mentally factored it in to budgeting.

Nooooo that's really annoying. I usually use them to sort out all the stocking fillers

Walkerbean16 · 04/11/2021 06:31

@ElfDragon you could only ever double up £50 anyway.

It is really disappointing, they have stopped all 25% off clothes too.

Just posting to say the first I've heard of this. I'm in the same boat, I look forward to stocking up on wine and fizz for Christmas.

That is a really bizarre excuse.

We usually use the double up on clothes or the year before last we doubled up 50 quid and got 100 quid which we used to part pat for DS Nintendo Switch.

People are probably disappointed that they're not running a long standing promotion, but would be more understanding if Sainsburys were more honest about it, and said it was related to well known supply issues or price pressures or they wanted to concentrate on better value on every day purchases.

Saying 'lack of interest' just makes them look daft.
