Diwali gift

I have some lovely new neighbours with young children who are celebrating Diwali. Would it be appropriate to give them a small gift and card bearing in mind I do not celebrate Diwali myself? If so, would some chocolates be acceptable?

I would usually exchange cards and small gifts with other neighbours who have young children at Christmas.

There's a particular day which is the day for gift giving..I think it might be the 5th but you should check. It's meant to be done in the correct order.

Chocolates would be fine I think.

There is no particular order, tomorrow is Diwali and Friday 5th is the new year. We celebrate both days and most people with mark one or the other, but there is no set day for it.

Chocolates, sweets or candles are ideal Diwali presents.

Personally I wouldn't bother with the card, Diwali is all about the fireworks/candles and the food SmileSmile

No, they'll chase you angrily down the street screaming, "YOU'RE DEAD TO US NOW!" Or they'll refuse to take your Amazon parcels in Wink

It's a beautiful idea. I would be thrilled if someone showed such respect for my faith

A candle maybe?

@WorraLiberty GrinGrin

Thanks everyone. Chocolates seem the best as the kids will like them!

Good job it falls on Bonfire day then, hopefully all the fireworks can be done on one night.
