Nuisance phone caller- what to do

I’ve had 3 calls from same number, one after midnight last night and 2 this afternoon. Didn’t answer the one last night but answered 2 today without really looking at number and obviously someone making different noises/ growling type sounds into phone. Don’t know number and have blocked it. I’m wondering what else I can do as it’s shook me up a bit and worried about safety cos I dont know who it is! is that something to involve the police in?

Report it to the police, even if they can’t do anything at least get their advice. How horrible, that must have been really unnerving, hope you’re ok

Have reported it. The police just gave me a crime number and took the phone number that rang me. I’m still a bit shaken and suspicious- hope it was just that and nothing else happens…scary when I’ve no idea who it is!

Growling? How weird. Wonder if it's a butt dial or something and it's someone's dog.

Type the number into Facebook search bar. Some people have their numbers linked to their FB.

I think if you add it to your contacts then WhatsApp may have their picture or something? (This I'm not sure on as I rarely use WhatsApp)

It may give you a clue to who it is.

Its likely a wrong number, drunk ex ringing the wrong number or someone just prank calling. Did you say anything to them? Surely if it was a scam for money- they would have said something! How odd.

Go onto YouTube and play a nuclear alarm video down the phone. Feel free to turn the volume up.

Wait till they ring again and blow a whistle as loud as you can down the phone.
