Christmas presents for teen girls!

Hello,

I want to get a couple of little bits for my DP’s 2 girls for Christmas. We’ve been together just over a year, his girls are 14 and 16. I know them a bit but not hugely well, and he’s not particularly helpful! I’d also like to get them things of my own choosing a bit rather than what he has said IYSWIM.

One of the ideas I had was personalised hot chocolate cups of some sort, maybe put together a little hot chocolate bundle for each of them, but I wasn’t sure what sort of brands/style teen girls are into these days! The younger of the 2 is a bit of a ‘cool girl’ and the elder is more typically academic, both lovely girls, so easy going and though can be a bit quiet, they are both friendly and sweet.

I wondered about those glass latte cups, or more Starbucks style cups. Anyone with teen girls got any insight? I’d love for the presents to be really ‘right’ of that makes sense and I don’t have any teens/children in my family to ask!

As with any gift I don't think you can get it bang on right as they are individuals with their own tastes. The gifts you suggest sound fine. Not sure what you mean by Starbucks style cups, do you mean like a travel cup?

Not on the high street may be your friend here. Sounds like a lovely little present

Mugs from Anthropologie and Oliver Bonas are really beautiful and they have initial ones. Much cooler than their full name. I would check out the gift areas on both of those sites, lots that will appeal to 'cool' girls.

Also things like sheet masks/face masks that you get individually wrapped, or other smaller beauty gifts like a lip balm but from a gorgeous brand like Charlotte Tilbury.

Pyjamas and fluffy socks always go down well!

Travel mugs from Starbucks and a Starbucks voucher?

LagneyandCasey · 03/11/2021 16:10

My dd16 loves Urban Outfitters. They do some funky unusual mugs. The hot choc idea is lovely!

A Pandora bracelet

Anything from lush

Soundofshuna · 03/11/2021 16:22

Oliver Bonas, urban outfitters popular with my teens. What about something like a chilly bottle( branded) as nicer version of something they already have?

Yes Anthropologie initial mugs are beautiful

Voucher for local coffee shop

reluctantbrit · 03/11/2021 16:43

DD is 14 and loves hot chocolate but only with milk.

I would go with a good travel mug, DD took hers to school last year as she got cold in break time.

Add a coffee shop voucher and you will be fine,

Bookworm20 · 03/11/2021 16:50

Depends on your budget really.

Fluffy socks always a winner with my teen girls. They were all also recently gifted a hot water bottle with a fluffy cover which seemed to be a real hit.

The hot chocolate thing sounds good too.
Lush bath bombs

Mine were also recently gifted from a friend of mine a makeup, hair and photoshoot thing off wowcher (I think it was about £10). They went and had their hair styled, light makeup and took 3 different outfits and had a photoshoot and then got to keep 2 photos of their choice. There were loads of locations and they both really enjoyed it and were the same ages as yours.

If you have a higher budget, maybe something from pandora

Travel mug and gift voucher would be a perfect gift

UnitedRoad · 03/11/2021 17:00

My daughters are 20 and almost 23. They both love Whittards hot chocolate. I think that with a beautiful initial mug would be very much appreciated

ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS · 03/11/2021 17:09

Maybe make up a little package/hamper each with the same stuff but slightly different to suit each girl. Some nice hot chocolate, coffee shop voucher, nice travel coffee mug or water bottle, fluffy socks, maybe a bath bomb. Do they have things they like? Are they into Harry Potter? Boots have a really good selection of nice Harry Potter toiletries, giant snitch bath bombs, eye shadows, make up brushes etc…

Hotel Chocolate is popular with my nieces.

I always get my nieces same gifts as they like the same things but add a small twist to suit each personality, one loves HP so I’d get her house socks but the other a little older likes things like stranger things, so I’d get her those socks.

Notcontent · 03/11/2021 17:17

Agree that a nice travel mug or fluffy socks will be a winner!!

SE13Mummy · 03/11/2021 21:27

My 16-yr-old would definitely appreciate a bamboo/other eco travel cup coupled with her own stash of hot chocolate and marshmallows. Fluffy socks would also be a hit as would a necklace/bracelet with her initial or birthstone. A gift card to somewhere the travel cup could be filled would go down well too.

DaphneDeloresMoorhead · 03/11/2021 21:35

Mine is a bit younger but they all are obsessed with water bottles, DD (pushing 12) is constantly wasting money buying them or at least it feels like it.

DaphneDeloresMoorhead · 03/11/2021 21:37

Do they have any hobbies ? If they are into horses I can advise you that every single girl down out yard would kill their own mother for Le Mieux clothing

Excited101 · 05/11/2021 14:51

Thanks all!

They don’t really have hobbies or interests particularly, which is what makes it harder! I can personalise things myself which is why I wondered about those glass latte mugs! But if a ready personified initial mug would be better then I can do that, I wouldn’t want to embarrass them with a poor mans ‘home made’ version if that’s not the point!

They can both be quite eco conscious so I wasn’t sure if they’d tended to avoid Starbucks due to tax reasons, I wouldn’t want to commit a faux pas in that sense! It’s so tricky! Usually I’m really good at presents!!

I’ve come across a lovely business called foam inc cosmetics and they do some amazing bath bombs, some are actually Disney themed too. I know my girls love them, and they’re super affordable. they are vegan and I’m sure they use eco friendly packaging. just a thought.
