How to get the puff back in a jacket

So my daughter has a North Face jacket and is very puffy , we had to wash it due to her wearing to a guide bonfire and it was stinking but the puff has all gone? Looked online and to get it back you put it in a tumble on a low heat with tennis balls? Has anyone tried this or something else to get it back as usual all my fault (teenagers!) thanks

I've done the tumble dryer with (clean!) tennis balls, it does help. Not back to new, but much improved from the squashed "just washed" state.

I have drying balls that I use in the tumble dryer so just stick the jackets in with them and that re puffs them

Yes I've done this with my oh's expensive coat. It took quite a while (about 2 hours I think) & the more tennis balls the better - I used 4 ! I took it out & shook it every 20 minutes. Didn't look like it was doing much to start with but by the time it was fully dry it looked as good as new Smile

Tennis balls in tumble dryer worked for us - it didn’t get back to original condition but there was marked improvement.

If the washing instructions say it can be tumble dried I’d give it a go, you’ve got nothing to lose.

We gave up and took both ours to the dry cleaners - they came back like new.

The same day he picked them up, our muddy dog jumped up at DH on a walk. 😂😂😂🐶 However, we know it works now!
