Ectopic and mmc - any hope?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone can offer any hope. This year I've had an ectopic pregnancy and as of 2 days ago told I was having mmc. We are utterly devastated as you can imagine. We have been ttc for 1.5 years. I'm now 38 (and a half) and losing hope. We are on the waiting list for IVF and now may pursue this avenue. I go to hospital tomorrow for a D&C and am dreading it but want it all to be over now so I can heal.

Does anyone have any positive stories? This is my first time posting here but I have read many posts and found it very comforting in the past to see we are not alone

I am so sorry for your loss.
I have been there and it was one of the hardest periods of my life.
I had 1 ectopic pregnancy (and Fallopian tube removal), 3 miscarriages and 3 failed ivf transfers.
BUT I also have 2 beautiful children.
The thing that got me through was speaking to an ivf therapist. Expensive but worth it to navigate and deal with the grief.
Good luck

Thank you so much for your message Anycolourwilldo! I'm so sorry to hear about your losses too but great to hear you have two lovely children.
Good advice on the therapist - it definitely won't hurt to speak to someone!

I had 2 ectopic pregnancies and lost both tubes. I have twins after 2 rounds of ivf (where weren't actually that bad).

All the very best for you

I’m so very sorry. I agree with Anycolourwilldo, it is a dark, painful time.
I’ve been there and remember just wanting the D&C over so the healing could begin.

The good news is that you aren't infertile - you’re able to conceive.
I had my first child at 29 without any trouble. Tried for a second time three years later, suffered five early unexplained miscarriages over the next few years.Five years after the first child I delivered the next. Another pregnancy and delivery five years later with no issues, delivered at 39 1/2.

Make sure to give your body enough time to heal properly before trying again. It seems like you have reason to be hopeful, OP. Best wishes and hugs to you.

So sorry you've had to go through that.
I've had an ectopic this year followed by a early miscarriage. I'm older than you but currently almost 30 weeks pregnant. Try to stay positive, look at the things you can do you to feel you are doing something towards your goal.
Look at supplements, diet and health regimes. Try to take the focus of getting pregnant and think more about looking after yourself.
Sending you lots of positivity

Sorry for coming on this chat. I need to express something that I am starting to feel a bit paranoid of.

First of all though, I am sorry that you guys had to go through such situation, I really am 😔

Currently found out that I am pregnant after ttc for 11 months. I am 11dpo but found out on 9dpo.

I have a light pain that sometimes can get very heavy on my right side. However, I have been having this sort of discomfort for over a year now, where it just gets very noticeable when ovulating (the tww), got checked back in May with an ultrasound and vaginal one too and nothing was found.

Can I ask you, as I read for some of you went through ectopic pregnancy, what were your symptoms and if your pregnancy test were also full on positive?

I keep reading on google of symptoms but I would actually prefer to hear it from someone who unfortunately went through it to explain it better. I am starting to feel a bit anxious with this discomfort.

Thank you 🙏🏽
