Drying rack in tumble dryer

My new Samsung tumble dryer has a drying rack. I've taken it out and used the dryer in a regular way but I'm wondering if I'm missing out on something by not using the rack. Those of you who have this: what do you use it for? Is it any good?

I used to have one that clipped into the door frame, it created a little platform to dry trainers etc
