I feel so bad for the kids going to school absolutely soaked everyday, they have raincoats but are high-school age and refuse water proof trousers(understandable) or even umbrellas Hmm

I also need to go shops but will get absolutely soaked 😒

Sometimes - though my parents ahd a car and I still had to wait around for school bus for 6 years in all weathers.

I insisted teen Ds come out last week as he hadn't left the house - was dry when we left but we had waterproof coats and shoes on - we were dripping 20 miuntes later when we walked through the door. Youngest child who came witha dn I had to leave the hosue next day mid day - our hung up coats and water proof shoes were still wet and had to put them in the driers.

I have less sympathy for DD1 - who's catching busses regularly for first time and yet hasn't worked out she needs a water proof coat with her at this time of year.

My DC is in primary school and it’s not that far a walk but when the rain is piling down it only takes a minute to get soaked. I don’t mind if it’s on route back but first thing in the morning isn’t great as you’re then damp for the rest of the day.
