We attened a family wedding last night and stayed in hotel, my autistic daughter 4 and half woke at 2 and as i also have 2and half year old , my husband is with younger daughter and i took older daughter downstairs as she is very vocal (non verbal and learning disability) and man on desk allowed us in conference room with kids dvds and beanbags, she is being very loud right now , just feeling bit fed up that we cant just have a "typical" hotel experience and also super tired as hasnt slept yet as when went sleep around 11 , been struggling due to anxiety 😴 😩

I'm up. Just back from a weekend in a hotel with a 5yo who was very loud when she woke up at 3am and couldn't go back to sleep so I feel your pain a little at last. I can understand you being fed up - I imagine that life is tough

Ohwhocares22 · 01/11/2021 04:38

At least not last

PinkPlantCase · 01/11/2021 04:38

Hi OP, I’m up because my baby just woke up for a feed and he’s gone back to sleep much faster than I’ve managed to!

Great thinking to ask the front desk for a place to go, it sounds like your DD is having a great time anyway! Will you get to sleep in the car on the way home?

Hope you had a great time at the wedding!

Newrunner29 · 01/11/2021 04:42

Morning! Working nights so selfishly glad other people are awake!
Do hope you manage to get some rest OP!

The conference room probably has a temperature control panel on the wall somewhere. If you can find it you may be able to get the room to warm up.

I'm awake because I am just really bad at sleeping (autism and anxiety and lots of complicated stuff going on) but I have had a few hours asleep.

Sorry that you are going through this. Flowers

PinkPlantCase · 01/11/2021 04:51

Could your swap with DP? Grin

SinoohXaenaHide · 01/11/2021 04:53

At 6 can you get DH to bring both kids to the conference room and let you have the bed and some silence for 2 or 3 hours?

Samanabanana · 01/11/2021 04:53

Morning! I've veen awake with my baby who's been trying to poop since 1.30am. He's finally mamaged it, hurrah, and now he's having a feed. Hopefully we'll both be able to sleep after! Hope you manage to get some sleep too Flowers

It's hard work, no sleep for you or your little one. Did you all enjoy yesterday. Did she enjoy it. Sounds like she enjoyed it so much she wants the party to continue. My relatives child is Autistic and she is adored. The screeching became less as she aged. Now nearer ten years old. Are the staff bringing you snacks and beverages.

Yes she loved the disco part she wears ear defenders and she is happy next to the flashing lights on dance floor, yes i hope the loudness gets less as time goes on. She has started saying words with context especially during this stay! There is swimming pool which we have booked for 11.30 after check out and she keeps saying swimming pool which i think maybe helping the not sleeping as excited! As swimming is her favourite activity!

Me 🙋🏼‍♀️ been awake all night, not had a single shred of sleep from being in bed since 10pm last night, got my 12 week scan tomorrow so don't know if it's anxiety about that or what.. it's been a long time since I've not been able to sleep! So I've been shamelessly scrolling Mumsnet for a longer time than I'd like to admit to 😂 hopefully you can get yourself some more sleep at 6!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 01/11/2021 05:26

I'm shake! Door opened due to the wind (bathroom window was open), now I'm wide awake and anxious!

Mummyoflittledragon · 01/11/2021 05:28

I’m awake. Been so for a couple of hours. Another failed sleep….

MissDollyMix · 01/11/2021 05:34

Hello fellow insomniacs! I’ve been awake for a while now. Was lying awake thinking over a problem I have at the moment. Need to get up to get the kids ready for school in an hour so not sure there’s any point in even trying to get back to sleep!

Newrunner29 · 01/11/2021 05:35

25 mins to go 😊

I'm awake! In a hotel and husband got up 20 mins ago to use bathroom. Now he's gone back to sleep but I can't. Clocksback hasn't helped as it's really 6:38.

sashh · 01/11/2021 05:41

Just saying Hi and well done to the hotel.
