All I want for Christmas is...?

BabyBearRus · 01/11/2021 00:10

Okay, if you could have anything for Christmas... supernatural or more mundane...what would it be?
Me: apart from being rich and health and happiness for my children...

  1. One more hour with my mum who died young twenty years ago.
  2. The chance to have one more summer as a carefree kid, especially to experience time with my large but now mostly dead family.
When I think about what I would really wish for, it all seems to be more time with my loved ones. Oh, and yep to appreciate my youth a lot more than I did 😭 How about you?

A jam/preserving pan not very exciting

BabyBearRus · 01/11/2021 00:42

MrsFin oh yes I'm with you on that one 😁👍

Thick lustrous hair!

BabyBearRus · 01/11/2021 00:43

And, I always appreciate a new pair of slippers (and have done since I was a youngster, not just because I am now a fair bit older) 😁

ElmtreeMama omg yes. I wish I could banish all those "get thicker hair" products

Some self worth.

Hobnobsandbroomstick · 01/11/2021 06:37

Mundane: a peleton, cross trainer, no 7 led light mask, murad cleanser and retinol, some nice "sophisticated" jumpers and boots, a mulberry bag, and a puppy. Oh and a house!

Supernatural: roll the clock back 15 years. With the promise that I would still meet certain people, there's a lot that I would do differently!

makelovenotpetrol · 01/11/2021 06:40

An overseas holiday where I'm sure that we can a) get there and b) get home without any last minute covid rule changes.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 01/11/2021 06:41

A house that magically cleaned and tidied itself. I would have more time and energy to spend with my children.

A time machine to go back and choose a different career as long as none of the people I have met changed at all.

romdowa · 01/11/2021 06:44

My health back. I'm chronically ill and I'd love a magic pill that would cure it all. Being able to eat what I want, sleep as long as I like and do what I want, it would be amazing and I'd probably die of shock 😲 😅

MinnieMountain · 01/11/2021 07:09
  • Non-split stomach muscles.
-To be able to take HRT. -A day with my granny before she got dementia so I could ask her more about her life before she came to Britain.

I was also going to write that but it feels impossible so I just went for a holiday
badlydrawnbear · 01/11/2021 07:42

My DH to come back (he died suddenly in September)

Slightly more realistically: a ticket to a Frank Turner gig next year and someone to look after DC so I could go (all the songs would probably make me cry, both the words and remembering how happy I was last time I saw him less than 2 weeks before DH died)

romdowa · 01/11/2021 11:55

Realistically I'd take a holiday as well 🤣🤣🤣

labazslovesliving · 01/11/2021 13:09

Unrealistically I would love one more special Christmas with my parents the ones when my children were small my husband wasn't so horrible to me and we had such fun.
I would also like to have a day as a teenager when I was not the school child that was bullied that I was more with it not ugly fat and a source of bullying.
More dogs especially a staffie another chihuahua and another jack Russell
Realistically even though I have loads I would love a nice fluffy throw for the afternoon naps I need to have for my health

Karatema · 01/11/2021 15:25

Not to have ADHD. I'd give anything not to constantly be distracted and be like "normal" women!

languagelover96 · 01/11/2021 15:29

A healthy happy Christmas
No endometriosis attacks
A vacation somewhere hot like a nice beach

MissyB1 · 01/11/2021 15:45

Definitely a couple of weeks lying on a hot beach, drinking cocktails, and recovering from the last 5 years which have been fairly traumatic for Dh and I.

For our mortgage to be paid off and Dh to go part time at work.

For an exciting new career to suddenly present itself to me!

TheEvilPea · 01/11/2021 17:32

A holiday on my own so that I can swim in the sea and lie on the beach in silence reading a book.

A close relationship with a brother and sister i like

Actil · 01/11/2021 17:36

I really want a wooden trainset Grin I always wanted one as a child and never got one, I keep considering buying one, but what to do with it? Maybe put it around the tree? I would also like a nice new pan, ideally copper if santa feels inclined to splash the cash on me 😂

The unrealistic to get one last hug from my gran, she passed away years ago and to magic my disability away.

TheEvilPea · 01/11/2021 17:37

Also: to have chosen a decent husband. To have been diagnosed with autism as a child not as an adult and had support to manage it.

Perhaps most of all to have had a happy childhood. Your post actually made me jealous OP: that you have such wonderful memories of childhood. Sad
