My 4 year old has had to be shipped out for the week due to me having covid. He's back and I'm better. I just feel emotional. I'm not having more kids for several reasons. This is it. He's growing up. I need to look for schools etc.

I was in floods last night watching the finale of bloody Dawsons Creek of all things, SPOILER WARNING when Jen says that she doesn't want to die, she doesn't want her daughter to be alone, I just broke. And when she does die and her Gran says 'I'll see you soon child' I was a snotty mess.

The one with bingo having thr dream where her mum says she'll always be with her
This one makes me properly ugly cry.

I cried today at the episode of Molly and Mac where they give their dad a clock made from a record that was their late mum's favourite. Then they all danced together like when the children were small. It was too much!

I'm an only too and it's never been a problem. Never felt lonely and I'm 51 now!!
I have 2 DCs and they're not close atall. Sad to say but I'm pretty sure the older one will not look out for the younger one when I'm not around anymore 😢
There's nothing wrong with feeling emotional. Have a good cry and it may help. x

I just love him.

I really cry at the Bluey episode with Chilli and her dad after he has had heart surgery - the end when he says ‘We used to come here all the time when you here when you were little’ and she says ‘that was a long time ago’ and he said ‘nah, it was yesterday’. So poignant. I have to leave the room!

Polmuggle · 31/10/2021 21:13

I'm guessing he's only just turned 4 if you've not done your schools application yet, so he's basically 3 Wink hope that helps Grin

@ZimZamZoom

I knew before even opening your thread that it would be Bluey that had set you off crying OP :) I sobbed at the one where Bluey meets that little French boy whilst on a camping holiday, and they plant a seed and then he goes home without being able to say goodbye....and then they go back once they've grown up. Honestly, I sobbed!

I was an only child (to a single mum) so I always felt like we were a team. Us v the rest of the world. I cannot overstate how much I loved being an only child. The main reason being that my mum is only my mum, nobody else on the planet can call her mum and I just feel like that's so special.
Have a little cry though, it's normal and just means that you really appreciate your child and the joy they bring x

What a lovely thing to say. I hope my little girl grows up feeling like that
ItsTheTreasure · 31/10/2021 21:41

I read your title and knew it was bluey you were watching. I cry at the episode where bluey is a baby and she learns to walk! Also I'm a only child to a single mum and I've never felt alone, or really wished I had siblings. Me & my mum are really close too. I hope you feel better soon OP Flowers

BlameItOnTheBlackStar · 31/10/2021 21:56

Why do you worry about him going to school? It's part of the adventure of being 5!

WheatlandTerrier · 31/10/2021 21:59

I worry he won't like it which is ridiculous as he loves nursery!

Honestly though, how many siblings have each other’s backs? I really don’t get on with db and I know very, very few siblings who get on that well.

YukoandHiro · 31/10/2021 22:24

Not quite the same but I can't get through the book The Girls without sobbing. There's a character who moves away and my best friend currently lives in New Zealand. Tears every time I get to that page.

My husband can't read The paper dolls without crying. He's had a lot of bereavement and lost all his close family except me and the children

My DH was practically in hysterics over that one the week after his dad died.

It’s a lovely episode OP.

The Christmas episode of Old Jack's boat about sailor Sally... I was not ready for that at all!

Bananarama101 · 31/10/2021 22:28

Sorry, meant Sailor Sue
