So many great shows with such great potential seem to drastically go downhill, characters & storylines forgotten about, wishy washy writing & acting. It's so bloody heart breaking when you've invested your time into watching a series and the characters and fans don't get the ending they both deserve. Game of Thrones finale is a fine example. But today, I'm talking about Shameless.
Season 11 is just awful. There is no other way to put it, if you watch an episode from seasons 1-7 and then watch an episode from season 8-11 you feel you’re watching a completely different show. The storylines absolutely suck, they seem to forget certain characters existence, forget where storylines were going and abandon them or just go all political. I really feel certain characters deserved so much better & the fans deserved closure and a happy ending. I’m not going to mention too many spoilers but if you haven’t watched Shameless and plan on, it’s best not to continue reading. I won’t be mentioning Kev & V, just sticking to the Gallagher’s.
This is what I had in mind for the finale.
Everyone will agree that the biggest downfall with the finale of Shameless was that there was no Fiona, not even a mention of her.
Fiona should of turned up at the house holding hands with Jimmy/Steve, the camera angles down and it reveals she is pregnant. She then tells the family she had found Jimmy on her travels and they got back together and are now having a baby, they came back to visit and share the news.
Ian & Mickey have always been my favourite, since season 1. I’m happy to say the writers didn’t entirely butcher their ending. (Apart from forgetting Mickey already is a Dad). Ian & Mickey have the best storyline throughout season 11, which is saying something because it was boring at times. I’m sure there is a lot that could of made it even better but they do give the fans what they want. They are married & trying to start a better life together on the West side. However, I do feel that when they were having the conversation about adopting a kid, Yevgeny should have been mentioned, since he is Mickeys kid!!
As for Lip, poor poor Lip. That boy had so much potential, I feel his storylines were always so depressing. But his ending, was atrocious. As for Tammi, oh my god I hated Tami... Anyway, when Terry became paralysed Mandy should have made a return, pushing Terry into the house in his wheelchair, she’s come back to look after him. Tammi takes Fred to live with her father/family, Lip doesn’t want to do that and realises he is only with Tami because they have a son together, they decide to co-parent, that relationship ends with no hurt feelings. Lip comes back home and notices Mandy, some sort of love connection starts up and they get back together. Perhaps he gets offered a tech job so he can show his potential and use his intelligence wisely.
Debbie, is just a disaster, I’ve never liked her. That stupid ex con girl showing up in the last episode to mess with her life some more is just sooo pointless!!! She should of stuck with Sandy, the whole storyline of Sandy being married and having a kid shouldn’t of happened. Debbie should of quit relationships and focused on herself and her daughter.. Or Sandy and Debbie should have got a place together with Franny. Or since Debbie didn't want to loose the family home, something should of been arranged where she got to stay living in it with Sandy & Franny.
As for Carl, he deserved better. His storylines never hooked me in after season 9. What ever happened to his military girlfriend?? Another character/storyline forgotten about. It should of shown him becoming an officer and rising up. Being a strong, powerful cop. And not getting that weirdo random girl pregnant.
Which leads me to Frank!
Frank in the hospital, dying. The nurses call his emergency contact, Sheila turn ups. She calls all his kids, they all stand round the hospital bed, sharing memories or having flash backs. Frank dies. The last scene should be Fiona, Jimmy/Steve, Sheila, Lip, Mandy, Ian, Mickey, Debbie, Sandy, Carl, Liam, Kev & Veronica all at the Alibi to celebrate Franks life, the car fire happens and Frank gives his speech.
I know I never mentioned Liam, he's just a kid, I really don’t know where his storyline could have went.
