Toddler has a temperature but am I ok to take him a walk?

We've both got a bug and toddlers temp is around 38. We've been stuck in for 3 days now and I'm getting cabin fever plus the dog needs a walk.
DH thinks it's wrong to take him out but I thought some fresh air if he's wrapped up in the buggy would do him good. Am I wrong?

Fresh air will do him good.
I do this when my DS is unwell

HettySunshine · 31/10/2021 12:21

Sounds like just the thing for all of you. Fresh air will do you and your littley the world of good.

Assuming his PCR test is negative then you're fine.

I presume that your pcr tests were negative, so there's no reason why you shouldn't go out? If your toddler can sit in the buggy and just get some fresh air, then I think it's fine to take him. I wouldn't actually make him walk with a temperature of 38 though.

Hope you both feel better soon.

MindyStClaire · 31/10/2021 12:28

We do this, we stick to outdoor places where we won't get close to anyone.

GobletofFiyah · 31/10/2021 12:35

Does he even want to go on a walk? I can't think of anything worse when I'm unwell. Do you go for walks when you have a temp of 38? Or do you have some paracetamol and go to bed?

Waxonwaxoff0 · 31/10/2021 12:37

Depends. If you've done a PCR and it's negative, and he hasn't had D&V, then it should be OK if you keep your distance from people.

HamCob · 31/10/2021 12:48

You need to take him for a PCR if you haven't already

Fridafever · 31/10/2021 12:49

I used to take mine out in the buggy when he was unwell because it was the only way I could get him to rest!

NuffSaidSam · 31/10/2021 12:52

I think a bit of fresh air will be nothing but good for him.

What's your DH's reason for disagreeing?

Hogu · 31/10/2021 13:27

Yes all tests are negative, it's just a bug.

@GobletofFiyah Yes he wants to go to the park on his bike!!! On the the other hand I would love to go back to bed but I can't persuade my dS to do the same 🙄

@NuffSaidSam because all my ideas are wrong to him 🤷🏻‍♀️

If you've had a negative pcr (not just ltf) and he actively wants to go, then why not? But if you're poorly, can't dh take him instead?

If he can't give a reason then I'd just do whatever you want.

If he has a clear reason, listen and research/discuss as necessary.

megletthesecond · 31/10/2021 13:48

I would have a little walk with him. Or wrap him up and put him in a buggy.
