Another migraine 2 weeks after covid booster

I am in so much pain. The first 2 covid jabs triggered migraine. The GP actually diagnosed cluster headaches and they fo feel different to the migraines I used to get. The pain on the top of my head is shocking. I got a pile on here though when I dared call them cluster headaches
My first jabs were AZ and I have the Pfizer as a booster just over 2 weeks ago
I've taken sumatripan and that has stopped the visual disturbance but I still have the pain. I think I can take paracetamol too but I'm hardly thinking straight. Does anyone know if that's correct?

Phone any Pharmacist and they'll answer that question.

strawberryblondebint · 31/10/2021 11:53

Yes you can. I have had to do this before.

RedCarsGoFaster · 31/10/2021 11:59

Yes you can.

Have you got oxygen prescribed as well?

Cluster headache is a specific diagnosis. And they are utter hell on earth. I have chronic migraine, but nothing compared to to the two bouts of cluster headache I've had. It's called the suicide headache for a reason.

Is your sumatriptan a nasal spray or injection? Needs to be one of those rather than a pill as it gets into the system so much faster. (maybe a question for when you're feeling a bit better).

It's a pill
I feel pathetic but I want to cry with the pain
I had palpitations and now feel twitchy. Do other people get that too?

Yes, and you're not slightly pathetic, these are horrific attacks and you have my absolute sympathy.

Contact the GP ASAP and ask for a change to the nasal spray, it's very common so shouldn't be an issue.

The NICE guidance also recommends that method - cks.nice.org.uk/topics/headache-cluster/

I am despairing. This batch are not as bad as after the first jab but still bad. They continued through yesterday and I woke with one today
It's not bad now after sumatripan but I couldn't get to work
I have to work if I can this afternoon (HCP and I have a rep coming to assess for an EoL pt and I need to be there if poss)
I rang the surgery to order more sumptripan because the GP wouldn't put them on repeat. They told me as its not urgent someone will ring on Thursday. I said it is urgent and she got sniffy and said 'I get migraine too you know'
Honestly I don't know what to do with myself or how I'll cope if I run out

If the GP had put the fuckingvthjnfs on repeat I could have just ordered more
Sorry, I'm just ranting now

@RepentBirthingPersonFucker If it was me I would just buy them from an online pharmacy. If you google it one will come up. Will be with you quicker than Thursday

RepentBirthingPersonFucker · 02/11/2021 11:31

Don't you need a prescription?
I haven't used online before but it sounds promising

Yes, you can buy sumatriptan OTC, however ring back sniffy at the GP and demand an emergency appointment. Fuck her and her migraine. You need the nasal spray version.
