Great news Silkie, not too long to wait. Hope it goes well

Silkieschickens · 09/11/2021 14:23

Thanks Acorn very relieved.

MissConductUS · 09/11/2021 14:25

That's very good news Silkie. If they see something on the scans they will likely do a needle biopsy while you're there.

silkie great news

Lemonsandlemonade · 09/11/2021 15:24

That’s good news @Silkieschickens have everything crossed for you.

DS can hold himself sitting up yay 😁

HildaTablet · 09/11/2021 16:38

I’m very glad to hear that, Silkie

Silkieschickens · 09/11/2021 18:48

Thanks very much everyone. Very happy it came through and yes MissC someone else had one on MN today and said biopsy was during ultrasound, good to know what to expect thank you.

DD is home and had a busy day french mock, economics mock, both of which she has self taught for and are additional exams she added, and after school further maths, one of her friends has broken their arm, then on bus back someone had a seizure so girl on bus had to call 999 and they had to wait for ambulance. Then girl on bus was crying as she said last time she dialled 999 it was as her Dad died so DD stayed with her until her Mum came when they got off the bus.

I had the australian professor offer me more work, said no as not got a clue what he is on about, he came back with he prefers that so I am doing that. Then another project came in for Monday.

Lovely to hear your child can sit now Lemon

Also told one of the teachers children has died at the weekend from cancer. Sad DS hated her lessons but Silkiecat loved them and listened every lesson sitting on a stool.

Gingerwarthog · 09/11/2021 20:56

Good news Silkie.
Can you take someone with you?

MissConductUS · 09/11/2021 20:58

Lemons, it's remarkable when they can balance the weight of their disproportionately large heads, isn't it? The real fun is when they start crawling and you can no longer reliable park them somewhere.

DD has informed us that she's going to take a remote calculus class over Christmas break with another uni that exchanges course credits with hers, so not covered by her current tuition payments.

Silkieschickens · 09/11/2021 21:02

Thanks Ginger They said its patients only atm but said someone can wait outside though outside is just the car park. DH will drive me there, he initially said he would go home but now has said he will stay close by. At least the doctor has warned me of the worst news so its either what she said or better or they may not say. You get mammogram and ultrasound and exam results on day, biopsy later but apperently they normally know what biopsy results likely to be.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/11/2021 21:35

DH - the raisin lover - will get Christmas cookies with raisins this year. I found a recipe and added it to the sheet. And he can eat them all on his own.

When they took my biopsy they apologized for a potential bruise. I told them bruises and minor discomfort were currently not my problems. (I had 2 DC under 2 at the time.)

Lemonsandlemonade · 09/11/2021 21:44

@Silkieschickens so glad your DH is staying in car. I really do send you good vibes.

@MissConductUS yeah it is he is proud as punch. He is pretty nifty moving round now if he sees something he wants he rolls and rolls until he gets it then shifts on his belly to change direction! He is also very into putting everything in his mouth. His favourite being baby wipes!

Silkieschickens · 09/11/2021 23:24

So sorry you went through breast cancer with 2 under 2s Prok Sad

Thanks Lemons I am glad he is staying though knowing DH he will fall asleep in the car and not hear his phone but at least he loves me enough to stay. I need Silkiecat to come too, she is very effective at stopping him sleeping.

IWanderedLonely · 10/11/2021 07:11

Good luck for Friday Silkie will have everything crossed for you.
I need to get up and wash my hair instead of reading Mumsnet & nodding back to sleep.
I was dreaming about putting up the Christmas decorations ( it was very realistic - everywhere was dustyGrin)

Lemonsandlemonade · 10/11/2021 07:45

@Silkieschickens perhaps DH and Silkiecat could come with you for support? Not the same or comparable really but I remember going for my viability scan on my own with DH in the car it gave me more strength somehow.

I wonder when I go back to work how I will cope if DS has a night like last night in terms of being able to function. He was up every two hours

Silkieschickens · 10/11/2021 08:44

Thanks Iwandered and Lemons

Lemons, could you go back part time, I did that and means you get to spend more time with the kids but still keep in jobs market. The sleep is really hard when they are little, DD has never slept well and she used to settle around 4am then the cat was then 1 or so and woukd charge round the house chasing toy mouse. She is still like it now. DS thankfully loves sleep but always wanted to be with me but it was very cute, he would cuddle his peter rabbit with one arm, fingers in the mouth, other arms and legs cuddling me.

I keep dreaming of Christmas decorations too IWandered.

Lemonsandlemonade · 10/11/2021 10:29

@Silkieschickens unfortunately have to go back 4 days a week then full time in March due to finances. On the up side I will only be term time so will be able to have holidays to recharge and spend much needed time with my DS.

Nydj · 10/11/2021 15:40

Sending lots of positive vibes your way @Silkieschickens.

@Lemonsandlemonade!p, your baby sounds very cute and clever - enjoy any rest you can get now and don’t worry about what May or May not happen when you return to work.

Grey and drizzly here - I need to sort out a planting my tulips - only a few bulbs but it’s not very inviting weather for any sort of gardening.

HelenaJustina · 10/11/2021 16:13

Grey here but I’m looking forward to a run later while DC1 and 3 are at their activities. I haven’t had any fresh air today other than having my office window open

I’m currently pretending Christmas is still 3 months away but at some point am going to have to face reality, possibly not until the start of Advent though.

MissConductUS · 10/11/2021 16:24

The iPhone we ordered for DS's Christmas present has already shipped and should be here tomorrow. That was a nice surprise after being told they were back-ordered until the end of the month. I now have Christmas lists from both of the kids.

It's a lovely fall day here. Tomorrow is a holiday here and I'm taking annual leave on Friday, so really looking forward to a long weekend.

I put in an offer on a house today. My son does not earn a lot of money but he is good at saving and has almost £5k in just over a year. I got him to open a LISA to get government top up. I came up with plan to help him without seeming to favour him over other children who have their own homes now. Elder son had support with deposit but bought in cheap area. My idea was to let it put for 2 years whilst FS continues to save hard and I give him difference between rent paid to me and mortgage I pay back to bank for interest only. Then I think in 2 years or a bit more his deposit would be enough to buy house from me for what I bought it for. I just hope offer is accepted. It needs a fair bit of work but he will do p labour and I will pay for material.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 10/11/2021 20:19

caring Let's hope it works out for you Smile

Temps. dropped to below 5°C and I find that the shoes I bought after I had my foot done are comfortable but not warm. I do not like shopping! But I'll have to

Lemonsandlemonade · 10/11/2021 20:26

@caringcarer fingers crossed the house goes through.

MissConductUS · 10/11/2021 20:33

Well done, caring, and good luck with your offer. The housing market here has been on a tear during the pandemic and only recently has begun to level off. We're hoping DS can come home to live with us when he finishes uni next spring as it will allow him to save a lot of money. We love having him home too. Smile

Am awake coz DS woke. Now am awake worrying about baby swimming class.

My DS enjoys the swimming class but there is one mum who is quite off towards me for some reason.

For some reason she has singled me out and disagrees with everything I say. She also is well liked within the group. Some of the mums go for cake afterwards I used to go ( a couple of the other mums have asked me to come along) but she makes it so obvious to me she doesn’t want me to come. I can’t be more specific without being totally outing.

The kind of crap that you see in high school. The only thing is I am so bad with conflict that I want to ask has she a problem with me but I’m not brave enough. I don’t want to come across as petty especially as the whole group think she is wonderful. I also think just though it out until Christmas as after Christmas I won’t be going to the class.
