Best UK short break over Christmas

If you could go away for a few days over the Christmas break with 2 primary school aged dc where would you go?

York

Second York (and we live v close)

It does get busy but it's very Christmassy
Even just to walk round in the early evening with a hot chocolate

Then there are lots of things to do - theatres, Chocolate Story do a Christmas thing, Jorvik etc etc
If you get a central hotel it's also all walkable

Breakfast at the Ivy or Bettys is also lovely(before the queues - though you can book the Ivy)

Bath is lovely too. Roman baths, lovely restaurants, super Christmassy feel. Drivable to 'we the curious' in Bristol.

Possibly Oxford but I've not tried that at Christmas.
