I just touched a dead wasp!

I have a guilty secret when it comes to socks.

DH gets about 3 or 4 packs every birthday/Christmas and consequently has a LOT of socks. So when I fold the washing I just put the socks in a big shopping bag. And they accumulate. My record in one sitting is 37 pairs of socks

If the giant sock bag isn't handy they tend to get put in a pile on the chest of drawers at the top of the stairs. With the odd teatowel that has made it up by accident.

Things have been a tad hectic of late and so a certain pile of socks has been there for several weeks with a teatowel mixed in. Just scared the life out of myself when I was smoothing out the teatowel to fold it up again and a dried up crispy wasp fell out of it.

So that will teach me not to leave socks and teatowels lying around in autumn.

What's you're guilty secret when it comes to that one job you can't stand?

I'm glad you had a funny moment, OP. I also appreciate those odd trivial events in life.

I have a lot of threadbare hole-full socks. Nobody cares. I wear odd sox daily. Am pretty sure I do get socks as gifts because I'm dull. We get live & dead wasps inside often they come in with kindling bags. They just want to hibernate, I feel sorry for them. Fitbit says I average 19k steps/day but I still don't wear thru the sox all that fast I would never chuck the good sock because its pairmate had a hole. No one but me sorts sox, and I actually do that when putting all laundry away - it's not a special occasion. Wasps are magnificient beasties.

My household is probably minging squalor & cluttered mess by standards of clean-freaks on MN.

tbf I don't really relate to anyone, never mind OP !

ps: waiting for someone to say they routinely iron socks
