If someone handed you £100 tomorrow, and you had to spend it in a week, what would you buy?

National trust membership

Facial or massage, no doubt. I love spending the day at a spa but struggle to justify it when I could always buy something more practical instead.

If you want a realistic Christmas tree - get this

well, seeing that it is to support local business we'd go for a meal out or pre-order Christmas turkey & meats from butchers and some nice cheeses too.

if just for me I'd buy a new pair of tap shoes (red if possible) and put the rest towards a portable tap mat.

FancyNan · 31/10/2021 03:02

New bras, 3 or 3 good quality ones will use up the budget.

OldTinHat · 31/10/2021 03:36

Food! 😬

Jerrysgonnabeacableboy · 31/10/2021 04:35

I'd put it towards the children's Christmas presents. My eyes are always bigger than my budget when it comes to present shopping.

Itsnotgreatlike · 31/10/2021 04:59

I'm in N Ireland too. I need new clothes and have been making a conscious effort over the past couple of years to buy less, but better quality. There are a few boutiques around the place that I have been following online. Now might be the time to check them out in real life.

liveforsummer · 31/10/2021 08:04

I'd spend it on a hair appointment. Roots are shocking but it's way down the priority list for me with DC's birthdays and Xmas coming up

Pheebs2021 · 31/10/2021 12:42

I don't have much by way of local indi shops near me that aren't fast food / the butchers, I'd probably take it for a lovely day out somewhere and buy some luxurious foods and perhaps a accessory or two.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 31/10/2021 12:51

I've just bought some sensible brown vegan boots (£70) and I coveted some in Brighton. (frivalous green)
£100 would cover boots/tax/p&p

I'd be happy Grin

I have an independent book shop nearby so I would spend it in there. I would buy fiction books, one of their lovely notebooks, and sit and have coffee in their little cafe corner. Bliss!

AuntieMarys · 31/10/2021 12:59

Celtic and Co jumper

badlydrawnbear · 31/10/2021 14:01

A ticket to see Frank Turner next year, a few jumpers or hoodies, a hair cut (I don't want a hair cut, I hate getting my hair cut but it probably needs it and because I hate it I usually spend our limited money on something else), put any remaining towards driving lessons which I am starting at the age of 40 when my provisional driving licence comes through.

badlydrawnbear · 31/10/2021 14:05

Oh, I didn't RTFT. In NI do you have to spend it in a local independant, not-online shop? I guess my hairdresser counts then. I would have to go and investigate local, independant shops. There aren't any very local to me but I would enjoy finding them and choosing something.

Woollynumnah · 31/10/2021 14:10

Oil paints

firsttimedad79 · 31/10/2021 14:17

I had this last week on my birthday.

My better half gave me £100 cash to spend.

It's still in my wallet as I can't think of owt!

Rubyupbeat · 31/10/2021 16:36

A nice meal

Hodgehog · 31/10/2021 16:45

I personally would spend it on a very nice very fancy meal -with drinks - there’s a fantastic independent near us.

To be honest it I couldn’t spend it on food I’ve no idea what I would buy. Something at the beauty salon maybe.

nicky2512 · 31/10/2021 19:13

@badlydrawnbear the card in N.I. can be used in any shop with a card machine and not online. However we are encouraged to “shop local” with it and use it to help smaller shops and places that would have suffered most during covid.
I used mine in a small independent shoe shop and the owner told me he’d had quite a few people in doing the same.
