What jeans?

I'm looking to invest in a couple of pairs of high quality jeans. The sort that will last me 20+ years, potentially Levi's?

But I'm stuck at what shape to go for. Usually I go skinny, as they can be tucked into boots in the winter and look ok with Converse in the Spring. But I've heard skinny is on the way out trend wise.

What shape of jeans do you think will last the test of time in terms of not looking dated?

I'm 5ft1, size 8-10, and 30.

I'm the same size, height and age as you. I love skinny jeans. I've bought several pairs of boyfriend, mom and looser straight leg jeans. All make me look like a potato. I've gone back to skinny jeans. I've decided they're timeless.

Jeans are my nemesis! I've bought so many pairs over the years and I've yet to find a pair I really like! The styles that are in right now - straight leg, Mom, etc, look awful on me. Anything high waisted feels so uncomfortable on my tummy. I've given up ordering online, as I'm sick of sending them back. I think with jeans you really need to try them on. Do you have a Levi's store near you?

Thank you both.

I'm think maybe sticking to skinny for now is my best bet. I feel confident it in and I'm not sure the other styles will suit my shape.

I have a Levi's store nearby, but also have a child in tow. So was hoping to order online, try on at home and then return/exchange in store.

It might be an idea to post in style and beauty for some advice on where is good for jeans. I'm still buying Topshop Jamie jeans as I haven't found anything else that compares at a similar price and don't have much of a budget.
