What shall I do this morning?

My DH is looking after our 15 mo this morning. Its been a horrible week as DC been really ill - I haven't found childcare due to pandemic so I am full time mum, and DH works long hours so it's been me and poorly toddler cooped up in a flat all day all week morning till bedtimeConfused.

Anyway, toddler is making a bit of improvement and DH has told me to take some time for myself this morning. The problem is in 15 months I haven't done this and I don't know what to do! Shock I know it's crazy I've forgotten how to relax or chill out by myself, (and I know I need to get childcare sorted ASAP). Please can I have some ideas? What would you do with some time off this morning?

I used to do yoga pre baby but checked the local class timetable and the class is a bit early - I'm still in bed! I guess I could do some at home. What else could I do to try and unwind / get some recovery while I have the chance?

Take a book, go to a coffee shop and sit in there for a couple of hours reading and relaxing.
Don't stay at home, you won't take the time for you, you'll clean, tidy and help with DD.

Definitely leave the house .... maybe a brisk walk and then grab the papers/a book and have a nice brunch out?

Take myself for a walk and a coffee.

Meet a friend or sibling or parent for above activity if I felt sociable.

Get yourself to a cafe or coffee shop with a book or trashy magazine, then perhaps a mooch around the shops to buy something nice? Nice doesn’t have to be expensive - you might get a fancy M&S soup for lunch

A nice autumnal walk followed by a cosy cafe / pub brunch (they type that has comfy sofas!) with a book or the papers. Or a swim if the weather is rubbish.

A nice walk, a bit a shopping or even window shopping, coffee and cake

I’d go for a nice long walk, then go for a cuppa. Bring a book or see if a friend is free to join you.

Definitely leave the house as quickly as possible (do you even need a shower this morning as a one off) otherwise you'll get sucked into "just quickly doing this" and you won't get round to it.
