That cozy feeling, like right now everything is ok

Does anyone else get this feeling where they feel genuinely like things are actually ok? I have ongoing MH issues so this feels rare to me.

Nothing particularly special is happening. I'm very happy to be in bed by 9 after a mad busy sleepless week.

Cat is snoring away on the bottom of the bed.

I can hear DH in the other room laughing and playing his daft online nerd quiz games with friends.

It just feels like right now everything is ok, which is a rare feeling for me. Does anyone get this feeling?

And I'll fight anyone who disagrees that a cat snore-purring is the best sound in the whole world Grin

I get it very occasionally, and it is bliss. Enjoy OP!

RJnomore1 · 29/10/2021 21:27

Yes I get that. Not a lot but sometimes. It’s a lovely peaceful contented feeling.

I usually get in tucked in bed with my husband sleeping next to me knowing I am safe.

I wish I had a snoring cat though 😁

PresidentJoey · 29/10/2021 21:28

My cat snore-purrs too 🤩

PresidentJoey · 29/10/2021 21:32

I actually felt content today too - everything went right at work for a change...

ItsAllMumboJumbo · 29/10/2021 21:34

OK, I'll join you
Just got home from a lovely holiday, but my God there's nothing like your dog greeting you, your own shower and your own pillow
My DDog has dropped so many toys into my lap tonight, I feel utterly contented and chilled
Everyone in the house is happy

BeautifulTulips · 29/10/2021 21:35

Oh that's a lovely feeling to have ! My family are currently midering me about what I want to do for my birthday celebrations and what I'd really like is just the feeling you describe Smile not a big meal or a party like they all feel I need! Enjoy your evening

WorriedMillie · 29/10/2021 21:38

I can identify, OP :)
History of mental health issues too, I rarely feel settled and “peaceful”, but when I do, I try and treasure it ❤️

Am glad for you @HauntedVag

What a great thread!
I’ve started putting h and s for happy and sad on my wall calendar. It’s lovely to see the h’s building up. I’m pretty sure my bleak days are hormone related which is why I’m doing it, but it’s lovely ‘capturing’ the good moments- as @HauntedVag has.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 29/10/2021 21:45

yup
I love that feeling of cozy contentedness (it's a word now)

It doesn't last long usually but when it's "on" it's delicious!
right now everything is just fine: DH popped to have a nap before picking up DS3 & mates from a party (we have 9-12 extra teenagers staying the night again; not sure who is coming back tonight), DS2 is chatting with his mate in the garden by the fire (he's staying with us still Wednesday), DS1 & DS4 are playing with friends, the youngest 3 are asleep.
I've just settled down to watch 30 Rock and the house is quite - bit of calm before the storm 🤣
it's highly enjoyable

Shelby1981 · 29/10/2021 21:46

Hygge?

Rollercoaster1920 · 29/10/2021 21:46

I had that feeling this morning! I was going to go for a run but stayed in bed because it was raining. The bed was so comfy. Everything is OK at the moment, so a great feeling.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 29/10/2021 21:49

*quiet

Laiste · 29/10/2021 22:24

Yes, sometimes it helps me to get to sleep if i concentrate on it a bit, iykwim?

I think to myself i'm reasonably healthy and my kids are all safe and sound and i know where they are (grown up ones and little ones) and DH is next to me and is healthy. It gives a warm fuzzy feeling :)

CiderGlider · 29/10/2021 22:32

Autumn is my time for moments of contentment. One such was a morning twilight dog walk when the harvest moon was full. Just a joyous moment bringing together things I adore. During lockdown I’ve become much more aware of these and I try to acknowledge and savour these!

ssd · 29/10/2021 22:33

I do think hormones play a big part in this. I've been feeling down for a few days but I know i could wake up feeling great tomorrow.

RJnomore1 · 30/10/2021 00:22

Yes hormones can make me very anxious.

paisley256 · 30/10/2021 00:41

Yes I get this from time to time. My senses feel alive and I notice colours and smells more and I get this overwhelming feeling that everythings going to be ok. Even if it's a temporary thing I make sure I savour it and make a mental note to try and recreate the circumstances in which it happens.

FlatStanletta · 30/10/2021 00:46

Ooh yes I absolutely get this OP! My moods tend to be a bit up and down (nothing diagnosed just what I’ve observed) and sometimes I get that warm feeling of “rightness” just for the moment. It’s usually when I feel there is nothing else I ought o be doing. —Often when I’m about to read a parking or woo thread on Mumsnet—
