Protestors blocking roads and motorways

Anyone want to enlighten me on exactly what they are doing and achieving? Do majority agree with them or are people annoyed at them? All I see publicised is angry drivers trying to get to work or schools etc... and the protestors not budging. It makes me angry watching them so goodness knows what the people trying to get to work must be feeling.
Should they be doing something more productive? Aren't they just making people feel more angry thus turning people against them?

If you want to be angry I suggest you address it to the Chancellor a few days before the country is hosting a UN meeting to discuss the climate emergency decided to reduce the tax on flights.

Im just trying to understand more

The climate is a state of emergency. They are drawing attention to that. No change, historically, ever came about because people were asked nicely. It's annoying and frustrating but the climate needs to be very high up on the agenda. The planet is literally burning, cities are flooding, buildings are collapsing. Getting to work on time will count for very little when your office chair is under a sunken bridge.
