My partner is having constant pressure behind his eyes and head, also his eye balls feel sore to touch like when you press your eyelids🤔
Doc wants him to go to hosp for a scan hasn’t referred just said go to hosp this was other the phone so hasn’t even seen him, he wants to wait until Monday and get a second opinion from another doctor before going to hospital as he will be waiting hours and may not be needed, any ideas what this could be? Sometimes he needs to lay in a dark room as the pressure is that bad.

No ideas but regardless of what anybody says or suggests he MUST go to hospital ASAP.

ScamTheSchool · 29/10/2021 20:20

Don't mess around with the eyes! High eye pressure can damage your vision, he needs to be seen ASAP? If the GP said go to hospital, do it.

! Not ?

Is he intending to ring gp again on Monday? That's a waste of a GP appointment, plus the time he will need to spend to get that appointment. Also, I can't imagine second gp is going to be very impressed when your dh asks for advice given he didn't follow advice from last gp appointment.

He needs to go to hospital.

OverweightPidgeon · 29/10/2021 20:24

Why see a doctor and then ignore their advice ? If the dr said go to the hospital then I’d go to the hospital, it’ll be the quickest way to get a scan , which is obviously something the doctor has considered and wants to avoid delays by sending a referral .

PinkMoon22 · 29/10/2021 20:24

Don't piss about with eyes.
If GP is telling you to go to hospital you go.

Jellykat · 29/10/2021 20:26

Dont mess about with these symptoms, i'd seriously take the GPs advice, do not wait until Monday.

Mummyto4boys1122 · 29/10/2021 20:35

He’s autistic so struggles as it is going to docs, hospitals
This doc was an out of hours doctor so not from his practise and basically just said go to hospital but my partner has been put off due to my brother going to a&e Wednesday and spending hours and hours there to be sent home after a quick check, il try to pursuade him, thanks for the reply this has been going on for over a month on and off x

If a GP has told him to go to A&E then I would go to A&E. It may be nothing, it may be something. Waiting until Monday to probably be told the same thing or referred to an assessment unit seems silly.

roadwarrior · 29/10/2021 20:51

I suppose if it's been going on for a month a couple more days won't make a big difference. Maybe a second opinion will help your husband accept that a trip to the hospital is probably the best thing to do.
