My husband has a history of mental illness. He suffered with depression and stress before we met.
He's going through another depressive episode now, which has been going on for around 4 years. He takes anti-depressants but also drinks a lot, which I think affects the medication.
Since Covid, he's barely left the house and has become quite anxious. We were meant to have a few days away with mutual friends but he got all worked up and refused to go, saying he was too anxious. I ended up going on my own.
When I got back, he had ordered some CBD oil, which he puts under his tongue. It has this dropper thing and recommends 2-5 drops per use and no more than 15 drops per day. Last night was the first night I saw him use it- I actually thought it was vape liquid at first. He had a whole dropper-tube full of the stuff.
I'm aware that I'm not particularly adventurous, never smoked or taken drugs, drink maybe three or four times a year. But, to me, it all seems a bit much. He thinks the CBD oil will help with his anxiety. I think he needs to stop drinking so his anti-ds can work properly, and engage with some kind of therapy, which he's been refusing.
Am I just being too goody-two-shoes?
