Removing food smell from coat?

Not sure where to put this!

Last night I went out for an amazing Indian meal with my brother (and I mean it was superb!) however someone had a sizzly thing and it was quite a small restaurant and now everything is heavy with that smell.

Obviously clothes are in the washer no issue but how do I deal with my coat?

Any tips would be gratefully appreciated!

Why can't you wash your coat?

steam it (hang it up in the bathroom whilst you have a shower) and then hang it outside for a few hours.

I had lunch in a pub with a very smoky open fire and my quilted coat stank of smoke.
I hung of in front open spare room window and shut the door to reduce leat loss to rest of the house.
It was smoke free after a couple.of days and no need to wash

Dettol do a fabric spray, or maybe febrese?

Air it outside or by an open window, I don't understand why but it usually makes the smell disappear!

Hang it outside
