Dd sleepover

DD wants to go to a sleepover sat night, Sunday we have a long awaited day out with friends . Back at school Monday. She's 13.

I initially agreed as was cooking dinner and not really thinking but now I've said no as had a slight hissy fit as we have paid for tickets for something Sunday and do not want a grumpy sleep deprived teenager. Plus it's nearly start of term and they've just missed so much and I don't want her starting back knackered .

I'll probably backtrack - there is a big group going and she will miss out. But they won't sleep a wink, they never do

I bloody hate sleepovers !

So you've said yes, now you've said no and you think you will probably say yes again?

Yep. Parenting at its finest here .

Let her go. And pre warn her if she's grumpy the next day and ruins your plans. No phone for a week! I'm 'that' parent.

The No was largely as she lied to me about something this evening (minor, but annoying , lying is the one thing I don't tolerate ). I had a bit of a tantrum and a 'while we're about it , you're not going to the sleepover ' moment because it had been annoying me all week that she was going to rock up to a day out I've been looking forward to for ages having had zero sleep. But I'm posting as I think I'm probably being unfair (as well as parenting fail - I'm a single parent, I get tired , it happens, I don't beat myself up).
