Uk travel

We are travelling tomorrow from Leeds to south London and looking for a stop in between, ideally half way ish, somewhere outdoors, facilities and maybe a play park for kids... maybe somewhere around derby, Nottingham, Leicester, Sheffield. Any suggestions?

M1 or A1?
Free or don't mind spending on entry?

Whoops sorry, M1. We can spend a bit! I'm open to any ideas really.

Rutland Water is nice (not sure of access from M1 though, we use A1!)

I’d recommend Bradgate Park, just off the M1, north west of Leicester

Might be too far East for you unfortunately.
