The Shining flat ... could be lovely with a bit of tlc

The floor plan is terrible... there is no way into the lounge from the rest of the flat.... maybe the person got bricked in!! Apparently you can only access it from the balcony.

@bluntness, there isn't a door in the floorpan. The lounge, bathroom, kitchen and balcony are inaccessible to the rest of the flat.

Have they missed out a door somewhere?
There is no way to get onto the balcony from the rest of the flat.

But there is no door from the small lobby (off the living room) into the hallway. Only a door to another dead end - the bathroom.

Someone's forgotten to put the door from the hall onto the inner lobby between the bathroom and sitting room, that's all. You can also see it on the photos of the hall if you compare the doorways on thr floor plan

It’s gorgeous. The reason OP is saying it’s spooky is because the long corridor looks like the one in the Shining. If you haven’t seen the film you won’t get that.

I've seen the Shining and I get the reference.

That flat isn;t spooky to me though, just really dated. Obviously a former hotel, but the apartment is really large and spacious. A bit of updating and it could look amazing.

The Shining is set in a hotel which has been closed up for the winter.
