How on heck do I find my Hermes parcel?

Twoweekcruise · 28/10/2021 16:26

I bought a lovely coat from Vinted. Decided to be a cheapskate on the delivery and have it delivered to my local Premier shop (only a few a short walk away), as it was cheaper.
I received an email on Monday to say it had been delivered there.
Popped in on Tuesday handed over my number and name, they had a rummage around in the back and came back saying it wasn’t there! Ok maybe it’s still to be delivered I said (although strange as the email said it had definitely been delivered), So I’ve popped in Wednesday and also today and it’s still not there.
I have gone onto the Hermes site and there is an automatic robot messaging thingy. I entered in my tracking number and the postcode and it came back saying the two don’t match! These are the exact numbers and postcode which is on their message they have sent me to say it’s arrived. I don’t have any others.
I don’t know what to do. There is no contact number or email on their website.
I googled and found a number, rung it and an automated voice asked for the tracking number. After 6 attempts of the bloody thing asking for my number and repeating a completely different number (I don’t have an unusual or strong accent ffs) it says it can’t understand me and rung off!!
The email I messaged came back to say that it’s no longer in use and to go on their website and use their online tracking system.
FFS I am going to explode because I am just going round in circles and getting bloody nowhere.
How the hell do I track and locate my parcel? Has anyone had any experience of this or know of a customer service number?

Try Tweeting. Was the only way I got any help. Spectacularly terrible CS!

Getyourarseofffthequattro · 28/10/2021 16:28

What post code are you putting in the tracking? Your home or the shop?

Because i had this and when I put in the delivery address postcode (the shop) it didn't work, but when I put my home post code in it did. Bizarre!

Lostfraggle · 28/10/2021 16:30

Try this?

AngusThermopyle · 28/10/2021 16:31

Also make sure there are no spaces between the two bits of your postcode. It doesn't work if there are.

FilltheWaterPot · 28/10/2021 16:35

I have had this twice with Hermes. Your contract is with the people you originally placed your order with (in my case Pure Collection and then John Lewis). It is up to them to take it up with Hermes, which might take a few days. If the item doesn't turn up then they will refund you your money. In JL's case, they also gave me a £10 voucher by way of apology.

underneaththeash · 28/10/2021 16:41

If you go into your account with vinted, then orders, there’s a section to say what to do if you haven’t received your order and someone will email you back.

Twoweekcruise · 28/10/2021 16:43

Thanks everyone. I’ll try everything suggested.
Lostfraggle That is a different number to the one I have so hopefully I may get to speak with an actual human being 🤞

Twoweekcruise · 28/10/2021 16:49

Ahhh! That number no longer exists.

Lostfraggle · 28/10/2021 17:13

Oh bad luck. Or this? I’m just googling “Hermes contact telephone number” and similar phrases! Smile

Twoweekcruise · 28/10/2021 18:51

Thank you Lostfraggle I think that’s the other number I’ve tried but I’ll ring it again tomorrow.

OP posts:
Hodgehog · 28/10/2021 19:02

You can’t - it is literally impossible to speak with someone. Which is why I won’t use them. I managed to speak to someone in the chat once and they literally told me they wouldn’t help and I had to speak to the store.

Which I did and they asked for feedback on myHermes …which I was happy to provide.

You have to ring whoever you made the purchase from or you’ll get nowhere.

loveisagirlnameddaisy · 28/10/2021 19:05

Hermes is very odd, it's either excellent or shite. I've never had a problem but the CS is appalling!

IsThisNameTaken · 28/10/2021 19:10

This happened with something DD bought from Vinted a few weeks ago for delivery to the parcel shop. It showed as delivered but wasn't there. It turned up delivered to our house 2 weeks later, presumably after being found at the back of a van or the bottom of a parcel bag.

timtam23 · 28/10/2021 19:31

If Hermes have lost it I'm afraid you're probably going to have to write it off, you may be able to get your money back from the seller but I doubt very much that the coat will ever turn up. Hermes customer service is terrible, I joined Twitter in order to tweet them but they completely ignored me (they had lost one thing being delivered to me and one thing I was sending) I now won't buy from anyone who has Hermes stated as the delivery company.

Twoweekcruise · 28/10/2021 19:35

Thanks all. I’m gutted, it was only £10 but I’m on a tight budget and couldn’t really afford to lose that but seems like that’s the case.
Lesson learned, never do a Hermes collection again! Grrrr!

If it helps at all I had a very, very delayed parcel delivered to a parcel shop a few weeks ago. As it was so late I was not longer in the area and it wasn't worh the trip for a £10 item - Vinted CS told me it would be returned to the seller if not collected so I left it. It unexpectedly arrived at my house a few days ago. I suppose it came to me rather than returned - no idea if that's standard but there's always hope that'll appear. Meanwhile follow the process at Vinted to suspend the order and freeze payment - they usually reply pretty quickly.

N0va · 28/10/2021 19:45

I always have this problem. They lose the parcel and then cannot get in touch. I used this email [email protected] it did say it was an old email inbox the last time I emailed it (with no new email given) but they still responded!

Newhorizon21 · 28/10/2021 19:47

www.resolver.co.uk/

Newhorizon21 · 28/10/2021 19:48

Use resolver (Martin Lewis) to contact Hermes, they're difficult to contact

oddball500 · 28/10/2021 19:54

I sell on Vinted a lot and Hermes are notorious for loosing parcels!
You shouldn't loose out on your money, if the parcel never gets collected then it will be returned to sender and you'll get a refund automatically. I think that can take up to 14 days to happen though.

amylou8 · 28/10/2021 19:55

I use Hermes loads as a seller with my eBay business. I do so with the full knowledge that when it goes wrong the parcel is gone. Their customer service is non existent. 99.9% of the time they are fine, and so much cheaper than anywhere else that it's better just to refund the hiccups and move on. I don't know what Vinteds buyer protection is like, but they need to be your first port of call. If you don't get a resolution with them then go to whoever you made the payment with and initiate a chargeback.

AngusThermopyle · 28/10/2021 19:56

Sorry if i missed it but did you try chat on the app? I just tried:
Help & faq↩️
Contact us ↩️
Receiving a parcel↩️
I can't find my delivered parcel↩️
None of these↩️
And then got a chat person. (Which i then apologised to for time wasting and a mistake 😬 .

Twoweekcruise · 29/10/2021 09:53

Thanks all. I have tried everything and just getting nowhere.
I have contacted the seller on Vinted. She is chasing it too but drawing a blank.
Dh thinks the shop has mistakenly given it to someone else?

OP posts:
girlmom21 · 29/10/2021 10:00

The shop may well have given it to someone else.
It's also very likely that the Hermes person has delivered it to another shop. They can bulk deliveries if they have multiple going to the same location and may have bulked it with the wrong set of deliveries on their device.

Newhorizon21 · 29/10/2021 10:09

[email protected]

I used this email this week, had a 'this email is not in service' type response, yesterday, I had a response to my issue from a customer service representative
