Can anyone help me with my vague memory of two children's books?

Circa late 80's/90's

I have two books in my head that I've wanted to find for years. My descriptions are extremely vague but I'm hoping someone will recognise what I'm on about

1. It was a counting book. There were clowns in it I think as I remember being really freaked out.

One of the pages was about the song, there were 10 in the bed.

1. This was a story book I think. The first page is children at a swimmimg pool outdoors. There is a red balloon. I'm not sure if the story is about the balloon but I seem to recall a child letting go of the balloon at some point.

It's a long shot but it has been bugging me for years!

Oooh I think I remember the 1st one but can't put my finger on the name

1. Could this The Red Balloon by Albert Lamorisse after the French film Le Ballon Rouge, about a boy called Pascal who is followed by a red balloon?

I remember it from primary school in the 1960s. Just found it on Wikipedia.
