Old alcohol down the drain?

Ventured into the cupboard under the stairs. Not fun! As well as finding out we have more bags for life than the average lifespan, found a load of half-drunk sweet liqueur bottles. Dusty, sticky, etc.
Outside in the backgarden in a plastic box at the moment.
Is it ok to pour down the kitchen drain? [Off sink/ washing machine one].
Mixed messages when I Google.
Thanks.

Yes, it’s fine.

Thanks.
Think concerns are around septic tanks rather than mains pipes.

Aye it’s fine.
When the government are pumping raw sewage into the rivers and seas a bit of alcohol down the drain can only help Wink.

Oh I don’t know about septic tanks - I know you have to be very careful with them…

DinkyDaisy · 28/10/2021 07:47

We are on mains- no septic tank.
Yes, perhaps a bit of alcohol not a problem considering what else goes in the system!

I would probably chuck some in to cake mixes but I like to experiment, they don’t always come out too well though :)
