Help with choosing a car

Hi I'm not sure if this is the right place but I need help deciding on a new car, if anyone knowledgable can offer their wisdom please?

I've had a Ford C-Max for a long time which is now 13 years old, it's been fantastic but is now starting to need a few jobs doing on it so it's time for a new car.

We are 2 adults, 2 tall teens, an 8 year old and a small dog. Although I would like a car big enough to fit us all in (the cmax does but it's a squash now!), it's unlikely that we'll be doing many or any road trips/holidays all together with any regularity so it doesn't need to be huge. Eg an S Max feels too big. Generally it's just me, and 1/2 child and sometimes the dog as I'm ferrying to different activities etc.

I like the height of the CMax and dont like being in other saloon like cars that feel low down. I'm slightly nervous of driving or rather parking a bigger car.

I've seen reasonably priced Dacia Sandero Stepways but am finding it hard to judge the internal size of these and whether they'd have enough legroom in the back. I've seen Kia Sportage mentioned on previous threads too but again hard to judge without seeing.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

When I wanted to change my car I went to one of those huge car supermarkets (Available Car in my case, but there are others). It was ideal as I got to try out sitting in loads of cars to see which one suited me, plus they are kept unlocked so you don't have to find a salesman to unlock them (and they gave me a large list of all the cars they had and where they were so that I could find them). It made things a lot easier.

If you're worried about parking, get a car with a reversing camera or parking sensors (or better still, both). It makes life a lot easier!

We've had a Sportage in the past which was a good car. Also a Tucson which was good also. Wouldn't touch a Dacia
