Nicknames that annoy you

Do you have any?

What I find annoying is when a name is shortened to the first syllable and then an 's' stuck on the end.

Ems
Nats
etc

Aarrgghh!!!

My friend hates all nicknames so when she had a baby she decided to name him Ian so no one could shorten it. People called him E or Es 😂

When my nephew was a teenager he and his friends used to all call each other by their surnames with a Y on the end - so Clarky, Jonesy, or an O like Thommo for Thompson etc etc.

For some reason I used to find it very irritating - I think it was the way they said it as if they were being incredibly cool, and then my mother started referring to these boys (my Nephew lived with my Mum)as Clarky etc even though she knew they were called Ryan or whatever. It really wound me up - not sure why, it just did Grin

I have an ex called Ian. His nickname is Pug for some reason. I have a few much more choice nicknames for him though .....
