Gift for someone who has had a hysterectomy

My friend is having a hysterectomy this week. Unplanned as blood tests have shown a growth and her cancer markers are raised. She had bowel cancer 3 years ago.

I'd like to give her a small care package with treats but unsure what to put in it. I was thinking heated eye mask, fluffy socks, nice chocolates maybe. I don't know what she will need or want but want her to feel spoiled and cared for.

Budget is about £25 max as I don't have much spare money.

This is quite a nice alternative to shampoo if she might struggle to wash her hair to start with.

What a lovely thought. A book or some magazines perhaps. Lip balm? Peppermint teabags are good as they help wuth the pain from trapped wind.

I thought about a magazine. Lip balm is a good shout. As is the peppermint tea. Didn't even think of that!

Prunes and cocodamol, hot water bottle and nice soft drinks.

That's really lovely. Notanotherbunchofflowers has good ideas for things that are useful/suitable for people who are recovering from surgery.

I had a cancer hysterectomy in the winter a few years ago. I was gifted a lovely hot water bottle with a fluffy cover which I really appreciated. Also cashmere bed socks. Just things which are luxuries.

Hope your friend has a great recovery x

You sound like a very thoughtful friend.
I think a comforting book and a mug with some Camomile/ Peppermint tea bags inside.

Some fantastic ideas here. I knew this would be the place to ask
