Chicken Kievs, sweet potato mash and sweetcorn.

legosunqueen · 26/10/2021 20:48

Nigella's Chicken with sweet potato & apricot harissa with lime, from Cook, Eat, Repeat - a midweek favourite in this house...

HerRoyalWitchyness · 26/10/2021 20:50

Me and DS1 had McDonalds.

DD and DS2 (DS2 is coeliac and allergic to tomato) had gluten free chicken nuggets, curly fries and a mixed veg steam bag thing.

It’s DC2’s birthday, so we went to Wagamama. I had yasai katsu curry, DC2 had the children’s fish bites and DC1 had the children’s chicken katsu with sides of edamame beans and vegetable gyoza.

GobletofFiyah · 26/10/2021 21:14

We had ham egg and chips

dementedma · 27/10/2021 21:10

Ready meal lasagne. Cba cooking

LikeACatInTheDark · 27/10/2021 21:12

Roast dinner delivered
It was soooo good Blush

LongjohnSylvia · 27/10/2021 21:17

Lentils with bacon, leeks and creme fraiche. Poached egg on toast for the 3yo (who doesn't like the lentil thing).

Lucyloo49 · 27/10/2021 21:33

Wow I feel like a sh*t parent right now.

We had mash & beans. DD1 is so fussy / 'independent eater' 🙄🙄

DD2 had vegetable rice on the side, so mash rice and beans what a meal!

They are 4 and 2...I've just cracked DD1 with pasta, next is different types of potato.
DD2 is a little more adventurous thank god.

Hugs to anyone reading this with children that are also not great eaters and thank you to the rest of you for the inspiration. Lots on the list to try x

MintyCedric · 27/10/2021 21:50

@Lucyloo49

You're way ahead of me when DD was that age...she wouldn't touch pasta until she was about 10, and she still won't touch mash at 17!

LongjohnSylvia · 27/10/2021 21:53

@Lucyloo49, mine are INCREDIBLY fussy! Tonight's meal was one of the few meals that dd finds acceptable. As you see, ds disagrees and egg on toast is his favourite meal! To add to that, dh wouldn't eat either of those options and went out to buy a fecking ready meal Halloween AngryHalloween Grin. So, you're far from alone and doing great.

Little ones and my dh can be difficult to please!

Grapesoda7 · 27/10/2021 21:56

Ackee and saltfish tonight

Tr1skel1on · 27/10/2021 22:21

@Lucyloo49 you have kids that eat rice?! I have 2 teens that have only just started eating it. You are 10 years ahead of me.

Don't panic. My veg hating toddler has become an extremely accomplished teen cook who spends her spare time cooking Japanese ramen dishes that are vegan.

They all grow up and develop their tastes. 10 years ago I was convinced she'd end up with scurvy!

whiteonesugar · 27/10/2021 22:26

We had pan fried salmon, herby roast potatoes, green beans and broccoli, plus a couple of roasted tomatoes. Delish.

Thank you so much. I could laugh and cry right now. I've convinced myself one wrong move and I could trigger bad thoughts around food that could eventually lead to an eating disorder...I realise now I'm jumping way ahead of myself.

Thank you LongJohnSylvia & MintyCedric too x

Chicken tray bake.

Chicken thighs, chorizo, potatoes, garlic, red and yellow peppers, cherry tomatoes and red onion, olive oil, s&p, dried oregano. With fresh green beans.
