If you had the chance for a quick holiday in the sun in November, would you?

I've not left the UK for 2.5 years and I'd love to nip abroad for some sun on my skin. Like many people, my life has been very difficult over the past year and a half - a relationship breakdown, bereavement, job loss etc. Things look like they might be improving for me, finally.

But I have no idea where I would go, where would be warm, where we are allowed to go, what the restrictions are and whether it would be a risk anyway with potential changes to the covid rules.

Oh my god yes. I’d love to get off this island for a bit! I just can’t be bothered wrangling the testing/quarantine rules and potential changes though. But if someone worked all that for me, I’d bite their hand off. I’m watching for suggestions!!

AuditAngel · 25/10/2021 21:23

Definitely. I just spent 10 days in Greece, although I would have preferred it warmer.

mynameiscalypso · 25/10/2021 21:24

My boss is going on a work trip to the Caribbean in a couple of weeks. I'm insanely jealous.

PaperMonster · 25/10/2021 21:30

Hell yes. I’ve had a hell of a year health-wise and I did enjoy a two week sunny UK holiday in the summer but am recovering from a very nasty cold and could do with some recuperation in the sunshine!!

rookiemere · 25/10/2021 21:35

Absolutely provided you're double jabbed, not much testing required. We're jus back from Tenerife it was 28 degrees and wonderful.

Apocalyptichorsewoman · 25/10/2021 21:37

Yes! I'm off to fuerteventura next week! 😁

HarryLimeFoxtrot · 25/10/2021 21:38

Yes! Without a second thought.

Sunseeker90 · 25/10/2021 21:38

Yes!!! Mexico in just over 2 weeks for me!

parietal · 25/10/2021 21:39

no because more flights = more climate change.

i'd love a break but i'm sticking to the UK for the moment. Or there are plenty of bits of France that are easy to reach by train.

ChipsNCurry · 25/10/2021 21:40

Absolutely would!

Redburnett · 25/10/2021 21:41

Egypt, an all inclusive resort. Need proof of vaccination to enter Egypt. Have to book a private day 2 LFT for return. Also complete an online UK form 2 days before return.

I am doubled jabbed. It seems that most of the offers are in Mexico, the Canaries, Carribbean or Corfu. I haven't looked into the other entry and return requirements yet. I might also have to go alone - though I will check with a friend or two.

I'd want it to be warm though.

Just back from Malaga. Cheap and easy to get to and was fantastic weather - do it!

TheGirlInTheGreenDress · 25/10/2021 21:50

Do it. I was in a similar position to you and just decided “screw it” and went on a last minute trip a few weeks ago. Don’t underestimate the healing power of being somewhere different and the warmth of the sun on your skin!

Bouledeneige · 25/10/2021 22:36

TheGirlInTheGreenDress where did you go?

canary1 · 25/10/2021 22:37

Canaries is best closest bet for winter sun. Do it and enjoy!

HalleLouja · 25/10/2021 22:43

Go to Cyprus. It will be lovely and warm.
I am supposed to be there now but my dd caught Covid and we are stuck here.

AnyFucker · 25/10/2021 22:45

Yep. Canaries.

userxx · 25/10/2021 22:49

Another vote for the canaries. Just the thought of it puts a smile on my face.

Bouledeneige · 26/10/2021 19:47

Canaries seems the warmest and with the cheapest flights.

Noavocado · 26/10/2021 20:15

Corfu definitely won't be warm in November.

gogohm · 26/10/2021 20:24

Yes, just booked the canaries, just a cheapish package as they are more secure than independent travel

userxx · 26/10/2021 20:31

@Bouledeneige

Canaries seems the warmest and with the cheapest flights.

Which one are you thinking about visiting. Playa Blanca in lanzarote is lovely.

Ghoulette · 26/10/2021 20:41

Sweet Jesus yes. I was trying to see if we could afford 6 nights away somewhere before the baby comes but alas, we cannot.

If I won a holiday starting tomorrow I'd be calling in sick. Covid taught me life is too short and employers don't give a shit about you, no matter how "key" they tell you you are.
