I have come to softplay in half-term by mistake

It's hell on Earth and cost twice as much.

The outside is open, including all the fun fare rides but I'm not prepared with coats etc.

I once promised 3yo DS I'd take him to the London Transport museum having forgotten that it was February half term. I was also practically FT pregnant at the time.

Big mistake. HUGE.

It's funny when you don't have school-age kids you still basically need to know when all the school holidays are! I used to get irrationally annoyed that the toddler groups stopped in holidays. I never realised and just turned up!

18 years ago this week I mistakenly visited Hamleys with two small children I am related to (I have no kids) who had come to stay with me in London with the sole intention of going to Hamleys to spend birthday money that was burning a hole in their pockets.

It is always by mistake isn't it, you get roped into it but somehow your mind has blocked out the trauma of the time before and you don't quite remember how awful it is!
