How long is reasonable to wait for a GP call back if it's booked for 10.30

I'm sat in my kitchen to make sure my mobile signal is strong and waiting for a 10.30 call from GP. He requested it and booked me in last week.
So I'm sorry waiting.
Obviously I understand it wouldn't be at 10.30 precisely but I've been in this position before where I've waited. And waited. And waited.
Then phoned the surgery to be told the doctor had tried and failed to get hold of me.
So how long before I begin to think I've been forgotten??

Couple of hours is usual here.

They tried abs failed to get you. Have you had a message / text to say they are going to try again ?( and is your number correct in the records )

drivinmecrazy · 25/10/2021 11:09

Numbers definitely correct and most certainly haven't not been able to contact me. I haven't even been to the loo since 10.15 in case I missed the call.
Am happy to wait if I knew with certainty that a call is coming.
Don't want to phone surgery in case I miss it 😂
I guess I'm resigned to staying in situ for the morning as I absolutely cannot miss this call, if it comes!!

Couple hours easily.

And I've shifted my kitchen table a metre to ensure maximum phone signal!!

I waited an hour past my appointment time last week before they phoned, but that was the hospital, not GP. Hope they call soon OP!

My last “10.30” call back came at about 1.30pm. I hate these calls because like you I have to sit glued to the phone. I’m hearing impaired so I’m terrified of missing the call because I didn’t hear the phone.
Also like you I’ve been told I missed a call when I know I definitely didn’t.
I wonder if it’s the same surgery Grin

I got a he call at 11.20 so I guess that's not too bad so all sorted now.
I generally don't mind this new system but I'm fortunate that I'm at home all day anyway.
Must be a nightmare if you're at work and waiting for a call.
How would that even work, what about privacy?
Anyhoo as usual GP was lovely and another two new drugs added to monthly prescription.
Thank goodness I pre pay for prescriptions, it's a bargain at £10 a month 😂
