For the clocks to go back…

I’m sooo sleepy and tired!

How will clocks going back help with tiredness(genuine question)?

Sparklingbrook · 25/10/2021 07:06

I hate the clocks going back. You get an extra hour in bed once, if you’re lucky and don’t work night shifts or something.
Then it’s months off driving to and coming home from work in the dark. Miserable.

Izzy24 · 25/10/2021 07:12

Because I can wake up an hour later ((til my body clock adjusts).

I’m so tired this morning that the thought really appeals!

I might need coffee but I don’t understand your logic.

@sparklingbrook
I hate all the living in the dark too. In my fantasy world I relocate to somewhere in the Southern Hemisphere from November til February.😊

I took delivery of a tumble drier at 06.05 today, it going to be a long day

Re night shifts - it is actually the pits when the clocks go back and you’ve got another hour to work. Joy when they go forward in the Spring tho.

@Thisbastardcomputer

A very long day!

Unless you are setting an alarm to get up to, you don’t actually magically sleep an extra hour though.

HerRoyalWitchyness · 25/10/2021 07:27

The extra hour in bed doesn't apply when you've got young children who wake up at what they think is 6am... so I'll be up at 5am until they're body clock adjusts so no I'm not looking forward to it

HerRoyalWitchyness · 25/10/2021 07:28

Wrong their... ive been up for an hour and a half and not had coffee yet

Affjo · 25/10/2021 07:32

I don’t like it. Gets dark too early

actiongirl1978 · 25/10/2021 07:35

@Thisbastardcomputer they don't go back till next Sunday.

I remember when DC were small it was the longest day of the year by far more than just an hour.

HumbugWhale · 25/10/2021 07:38

The clocks changing is bloody awful if you have small dcs. I know I will be up at 5.30 on Sunday, am considering keeping them up really late on Saturday but that doesn't always work, they still get up early then they are just tired and grumpy all day. Then in the summer there's the hassle of trying to get them to go to sleep when it's light. I hate it!!!

clockover · 25/10/2021 07:39

For small children we just changed the clocks at lunchtime by 30 mins on the Saturday and the same in the Sunday. No huge event.
