I normally have very heavy periods with large clots and heavy bleeding. I have ended up in hospital with it.
I have been taking transexamic acid for a year and it has helped a lot but i have still had regulat periods with normal bleeding for 5/6 days - just not quite as dramatic.
My period is due around now and 3 days ago i got a small amount of pink bleeding i took my first transexamic acid (of i dont take it as soon as i start i get sudden heavy bleeding so i try to take it at the first sign)
But i had no more bleeding at all until this morning when i had another small amount of spotting so again took the transexamic acid that has been it until this evening and now i just have a bit of brown blood like you normally get at the end of your period !
I am really struggling to know whether i should take this evenings tablet or not - i have no desire for it to suddenly come on overnight and take me by surprise but kind of worried about taking the transexamic acid with such light bleeding.
I am 38 so i did think maybe perimenopause but im not sure if it just comes on suddenly one month like this?
Has anyone else had this happen!
Will it harm me if i take the transexamic acid just in case?
I have this probably irrational worry that the transexamic acid is stopping the blood coming out and that it is going to fester like a swamp inside me
