I am looking for some ideas as I have been feeling pretty bleh with all that's been going on with covid. What are some of your favourite ways to treat yourself or things that you enjoy?

Getting my nails or hair done.
A wander around the shops child free or just going for a long walk once DD is in bed by myself.
A long soak in the bath surrounded by candles with a face mask on.
Sometimes just stuffing my face with snacks in bed watching Netflix.

Buying clothes
Having a spa day
Bottle of wine and a takeaway

EspressoDoubleShot · 24/10/2021 20:53

Yes all my treats are child free
I’ve put them in nursery and then had a treat day. Divine

I love a good kdrama. There's lots on netflix atm.
Totally recommend 'secret garden' for a start (it's a guy-girl magic body swap series).

I think I'd sooner give up chocolate for life than kdrama. It's one of the few things in life that I actually get giddy happy about. I'm like a school girl with a crush watching them sometimes. Totally a sucker for a handsome make lead.

The odd thing though is I generally can't stand rom coms. Kdrama just seems to be an exception for me.

Having my nails done! 2 hours of chatting and laughing, and coming out with beautiful nails!

drury7thedition · 24/10/2021 21:13

Spa membership, massages, nice perfume and nicer consumables than pre COVID. I don’t want any more ‘stuff’ in my life.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 24/10/2021 21:14

Roller skating.

ithoughtisawapuddycat · 24/10/2021 21:17

Spa day has become a new treat. Costs me £150 once every 3 months and worth every penny. There is no phone signal there and I thoroughly enjoy the pamper and quiet time.

I also love a mooch round Tesco's as we never normally shop there, getting something yummy to eat and having a quiet day reading and watching TV - thankfully hubby works at least one weekend a month so lots of chance to do that.

ChocolateRiver · 24/10/2021 21:18

Make up shopping is my favourite. My most favourite thing is a new lipstick. I pretty much always go to Chanel. Their lipsticks are gorgeous and the ladies on my local John Lewis counter are always amazing. A fab new lipstick always makes me feel great.

Piapiano · 24/10/2021 21:20

@Pinkbonbon what is kdrama?

Cantstopthewaves · 24/10/2021 21:23

I like to buy a new bath bomb or other bath product and have a soak in the tub with a book.
I also enjoy hot chocolate with marshmallows.
Sometimes I'll eat healthy stuff all day then treat myself to a bar of not expensive but indulgent chocolate while chilling on the sofa. I like to try different ones. Last was Green&Black's Milk.

I love a good trawl round the charity shops. There are some very posh towns within driving distance from me and I love going and seeing what I can find. Love the randomness of it, and more often than not I find something great, for the house or for the dc, occasionally even me(!) I have a hard time spending money on things for myself, stupid mum guilt, so anything I do find is really special. I got a fantastic coat yesterday that fits like a glove, and a game that my toddler loves already.

ButYouGottaHaveASkillJeff · 24/10/2021 21:33

A bath, maybe a face mask
Into fresh jammies
House tidy (preferably done earlier!) then candles and lamps on
Blanket on the sofa with a glass of wine
Get stuck into something on Netflix or the like.

That's my perfect evening.

ButYouGottaHaveASkillJeff · 24/10/2021 21:33

*treat evening

MarshaBradyo · 24/10/2021 21:35

I had a really incredible lunch out recently - favourite food, champagne, scallops then duck confit

That was nice!

Plus just being alone at home with everyone out, doing my own stuff

MummyJasmin · 24/10/2021 21:39

Bubble bath followed with fresh bedding - preferably high TC!

Pinkbonbon · 24/10/2021 21:40
