We are currently abroad on holiday and have DDs BF with us.
For some reason I remembered someone on MN talking about permission letters to take non related children abroad so I got the BFs Mum to download a template from T’interweb for us to take. She had never heard of such a thing and neither had anyone else I mentioned it to.
When we arrived at passport control we were asked if the BF was related to us and when I said no we were asked if we had a permission letter. When I said yes he said that it was a good thing we did as it would have been a big problem if not. He took down all the details from the letter too.
BF is 16 by the way!
So thank God I read it on MN!!
